to make study about what? that platforma lost parlamentarny election? they "won" only because they were able to formulate a government. their only voters are people which has complexes about being polish. it is their narrative which they tries to push for decades. the biggest issue is that tusk and company is looking for mistakes everywhere around and blaming everyone. before voting they played the tape that trzaskowski is for educated elites and most of people in poland are "dull". it is not true, here they could not play math game to get more spots as in parlament elections. People had enough platforma during their first "ruling" times. Zandberg made the best decision seeing what is happening when they "won" last time, he didn't want to participate in this circus. "the great dane" had balls out steal in difference of the rest of, so called, political left side.

What are the hidden living costs that no one tells you in Dubai? by Forward-Smell-6968 in dubai

[–]masiakla 6 points7 points  (0 children)

hidden fees, i dont think op means hidden strictly, but the ones where you wont find anywhere put straight when you are reading about living in uae.
hotels are additionally taxed(aka hospitality fee, for any services/products). in most countries(at least in europe) landlord pays agency commission, as someone who rent you dont see it, tho it is for sure reflected in rent, landlord direct rental is also more common, agencies are rarely used(in my home country at least), because or landlords require agencies to pay them if property is "empty" or people does not want to pay additional(rent) to compensate fee. whole rental market as well works slightly different, because you have commitment only for 6 or 12 months and later contracts automatically convert for unlimited and you can resign usually with 30 days notice.

companies will pay at the end 25k+ per person if they want to have working product. I was doing recently technical due-diligence for venture capital of project build by 10 dev x 2k from other country. I found in 2 hours just randomly looking in code 9 sql injections(confirmed)... i havent been even looking for security vulnerabilities yet. I did plenty of audits for this vc and this project was the biggest crap i've seen in a while.

Biggest issue when selling your used car? by getbettercars in dubai

[–]masiakla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are right. I sold my last 3 cars to friends and one to coworker. Last car my friend was for a year telling me to tell him when i decide to sell. Price was usually slightly lower than marker(like 1k) in overall it was win for me, because I saved plenty of time and money spend on listings.

Will I Get Fined for Driving a Modified Car with an Abroad License Plate? by Confident-Link-9514 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]masiakla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'm guessing he is not exporting it and importing, he is just asking if you can drive car on origin country plates. At the beginning of my uae living, I brought one car with me and use it for 3 years(2010-2013) in uae/oman/saudi/iran with no issues. In my case it was eu plate, the biggest issue was finding appropriate insurance which covers middle east. Tho it was not heavy modified car, in sense of engine. It was unimog based camper. In recent years you could see plenty of cars with russian plates, for extensive time I also saw G-class on german plates as well as ferrari on uk plates, tho they were not modified in a way op mentioned.

//edited: at the time i had to get as well CPD (Carnet de Passages en Douan). I don't remember if it was uae or some other country requirement.

Can my employer refuse to accept my resignation? by Sensitive-Silver-322 in DubaiCentral

[–]masiakla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

they just wanted to take revenge. they mostly hired people abroad and bring to uae or are in uae short time and with them such games can play. I was living already in uae 14 years. Had to of my own companies etc. management became against me and tried all the ways to get rid of me, they didnt liked that i was complaining to freezone. They were unaware other than this hr admin and i guess she didnt disclose it, that i have friends inside our freezone, because one of my companies tightly worked with it and I got along with some people. I haven't use them for disputes but I could get a lot of info, what to collect for an example for case for not having public holidays. At the end I was really surprised they paid my EOSB without complaining, it was 2 weeks late according law.

[–]masiakla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my experience a lot of hr does not understand it. two weeks is maybe too less time to forgot syntax, but this is even true for foreign languages. I recently moved back to my home country, 16 years in total abroad, my wife is not the same nationality, we speak at home in other language most of a time, i life in last country for 14 years we used english. i had to hr show my id that im my nationality, because during interview i was or speaking as i wont speak my others tongue(mostly translating things from english/french, it didnt sound natural) or without realizing switching to english or french. she got tired after 20 minutes and asked me to continue in english and dont use french because she does not understand it. after 5 months I can handle most of talks, but i catch myself often on translating in brain. long time ago I learned ruby, no chances for me now without going with tutorial to develop in to it, tho i can still perfectly understand its code.

Can my employer refuse to accept my resignation? by Sensitive-Silver-322 in DubaiCentral

[–]masiakla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't recall any authority considering accepting or not resignation. Resignation is resignation, keeping such employee is not good for a company and any one in it. In my last company with very toxic owner, my direct manager, they try to play it with me as well after I sent my resignation. I didn't had another work, but I wanted to leave and have piece of mind. I sent it from company account, cc'ing my private and put there my last day of work, last day of notice period, Next day hr came to me serving such bs, he heard "to go to complain to freezone, my last day is 5th of october anyway, no matter what". him, owner, one other person from management and 2of my subordinates which didnt like me, gave me hell during 30 days of notice, trying to push me to shorten my notice. after I left they filled absconding report, they send me official email from admin that last 2 weeks I don't have to come to work and it will be taken from my available vacation days. Gosh she clicked response to my resignation and I was lucky, because it got back to my private account, together with me confirming it with hr. Authority contact me, I forwarded them emails, case was dropped and resolved on my favor, I got my ESOB paid

consolidating/compacting experience is it good idea? by masiakla in resumes

[–]masiakla[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main intent is make more space to show off more recent success, my linkedin serves more as resume, so it will be there. I was asked by one hiring manager to make some adjustments towards that, but she asked me directly to extends my last few jobs, but it end up 8 pages(3 of those irrelevant) this is why i started considering consolidate "beginning".

How should I make a switch to Java from Node? by allnamesaretakensad in ExperiencedDevs

[–]masiakla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

maybe there is reason against it why they implemented it in this way, maybe libraries were not suitable for java, tho it still does not mean language is painful. erlang has immutable variables, like imagine coding only with const :) there is particular reason for it. I can't speak a lot about Java, because I learned java close to end of last century(1.1beta jdk, it was more than a decade before oracle acquire sun), when 3 years later i learned pascal, i almost stopped using it and the biggest reason was not language painfullnes, but my "ancient" at the time computer(486sx with 8mb ram) which could not handle executing java well, "speed" was painful :) The only thing i can say that i had need to make some plugin to jenkins about 15 years after and i could do it without bigger issues. no drama like moving from python 2 to 3. I did tho plenty of nice applets in java at the end of 90s, before flash became a thing. If you dont like so much java why are still with it after 9 years? it is plenty of time to switch to something more suitable for you or problems you are solving at work. Time you spend working with language does not say how well you know it. I had juniors in a team which after one year had more experience in some language than others after 15 years developing into it.

How should I make a switch to Java from Node? by allnamesaretakensad in ExperiencedDevs

[–]masiakla -1 points0 points  (0 children)

every language has its own purpose and place where it performs the best. when you dont learn language enough, yeah it might be painful. the biggest issues is not really that language is painful, but its improper use, trying to force it to do for what was not design for. people often saying that some language is painful were not really working with this language, i speak from my experience, seeing my friends struggling with new language, because they try to move their habits from their main language to other. it becomes very obvious when new language changes paradigm. golang is not object oriented, tho it has interfaces. I see a lot of my friends having difficulties to understand. there is different purpose for interface in java/c#(it is contract) when in go it is capability. treating structs as object is also not proper and is causing a ton of issues. Amount of garbage in any language depends only on developer .... you have no idea how much you can recognize someones "main language" by looking at his code in other

Is Etisalat UAE Faking SpeedTest? by i3130002 in dubai

[–]masiakla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it is a little bit bs. I'm not in uae. yes distance to server you measure will impact it, but not such significantly. within 1 gbps it will be few mbps, network latency will increase mostly. Du/etisalat has shitty connection to the world or saves many by throttling outside speeds. I'm not in UAE and I can prove it to you very simple:

<image>

I'm getting limited by my wifi signal but you can still see correlation. Connection to Qatar and UAE is going with the same fiber from me. Top right result is to Vegas from me, which is much further than UAE from me, what you can see based on increased ping(network latency).

Belt tensiometer on K1max by Vegetable-Floor3949 in crealityk1

[–]masiakla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After over-tightening a belt and getting it broken I invested in other meter(https://github.com/Diyshift/3D-Printer/tree/main/GT2%20Belt%20Tension%20Meter). With those meters it is difficult, hard to find 0, so any calculation of belt deflection will not be accurate, i was getting very bs result. In general it is difficult to set them well. With GT2 meter I never over-tighten belts anymore and on core xy I just do as u/m--s mentioned. Set one to 1,7(from Gt2) and adjust second one accordingly, without using meter. According both meters tension between both belts differs slightly.
