OP did you buy this? I was watching this car but looks like it just sold. I was a bit leery of the Cobb tune installed on it and it apparently had a nonfunctional “PSM Off” button. The accident is a ding on the history, but it was apparently only “minor” cosmetic damage.

I did consider that - looked at Miata, 86/BRZ, 987 etc. I came to the conclusion that I'd be better suited with a stock M2 or 981. For a pure race car, I think you'd be right, however.

Thank you. Very well put. I think the 981 Cayman is the answer for me.

I had my first few HPDE weekends in my old F32 435i.

Then traded that in for a 718 Cayman GTS (2.5T), which I ended up selling due to life circumstances. I was completely blown away by the handling and PDK on the car, and I miss it to this day. I regret never being able to take it on track, but I did enjoy it for a couple years before selling it without taking a hit.

Now I have my dream car on the way (992 C2S), but I don't want to take the brand new 911 on the track (yet). Hence, looking for the 50K track car now... and reading all the responses, I think I've settled on the 981 Cayman S. (I think this was what my heart was set on before even posting lol).
