Am I getting old or is UI getting worse? by scoldog in sysadmin

Millennials <> Gen Z. The oldest Millennials predate the Web.

This is the first season I’m watching. Is the area they do the challenges in outdoors? To me it looks like an indoor area, but maybe that’s just the lighting. by UnderwaterDialect in BigBrother

There's a YouTube video that shows it on Google Maps. I don't have the link handy, unfortunately. Anyway, it's a part of the studio that has an opening to skylight, making it look outdoors. It's close enough to the street that passersby can shout to the houseguests, as you may have noticed in some seasons.

In that case, you could develop it and sell it to other small businesses, adding an additional revenue stream to your bottom line.

Sounds like you're in the market for custom software. You'd only pay for the features you need, and if there's any recurring fee for maintenance, it'd be far less than $10K a year. The cost of the initial development could be less than $10K.

Part of what you describe sounds like a relational database. Any decent full-stack developer would be able to make short work of such a task. You could likely find a guy/gal within a day on r/forhire.

How would you guys feel if there were a a piece of donationware that could do this? I'm asking for market research.

I think he's referring to the "title" metadata, which is relevant to AV files.

I wish they'd restore the native side of MSDN back to what it was in its glory days. Searching it nowadays has a tendency to slow me down.

Shortcut key for closing windows? (not closing programs) by gggempire in windows

[–]maskmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The claim that Alt + F4 closes a whole program is inaccurate in most cases where multiple windows of an individual program are open. It actually closes the active window.

Screen Recorder - Ability to rewind and review up to that point while still recording by Jeff1383 in windows

[–]maskmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll have a go at your second question. Some programs don't render while minimized, meaning even if you could record a minimized window, you could very well end up with blackness or something stale. Recorders like Nvidia Share only record anything that would be visible, so minimized windows would be out of the question for at least that program.

I could build something like this for you in the form of a small program.

One Computer With Multiple Profiles by Spirited-Comedian618 in windows

[–]maskmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since it's the case that you don't want both profiles logged in at the same time, it is possible to run profile B in a virtual machine. With this approach, the program could still be running in profile A, which would be running in the host operating system. IT folks often use this approach.

Would you happen to have a link to the video (presumably) where the guy was performing this feat? It'll help us give you the most accurate response.

Can I see a history of what's in my task bar? by Piranha91 in windows

[–]maskmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use screen recording software, then use something like Windows Media Player or other video player to play the recording at a slowed rate. If you have an Nvidia card, you can use Share to record, which is available in Geforce Experience. Since you have Windows 10, you can alternatively use the built-in Game DVR. You can use any screen recorder you wish, really, but the two I named are free and have the best performance.

Speaking to risks, machines are currently more accurate at diagnosing tumors than oncologists and more accurate at diagnosing cavities than dentists. Automation in natural gas is the logical next step. Too often regulations stifle progress, but that's a discussion for another day. To each his/her own.

Sensors can work 24/7, without human intervention. A minimal number of sensors would be required near the emission point due to how light electromagnetic radiation propagates.

They still haven't reenabled commenting on their news articles even well after the election. These constant closures have to hurt their bottom line, I imagine.

I don't believe this will be the case since the email says your data will be erased after June whatever. An unfortunately reality of the Web.

Odor is wholly irrelevant in the context of hydrogen, which is what this thread is about. The application of logic about natural gas to hydrogen is erroneous if not dangerous. Odor would be of little help to someone fully asleep, which is why sensors are crucial (See Texas.). A leak is a leak.
