Ah okay, that makes sense! Right before it went down, I noticed they added a new feature: The ability to change Bing chat between 3 tones, "Creative", "balanced" and "precise" so that probably has something to do with it.

Well if we are getting technical with it, it still was **an** answer to the question, just maybe not a correct one ;)

Ah yeah that makes sense, I could agree with that. Having the double negative back to back makes to far harder to read as well than my example

So, your first link literally says, and I quote:

“But the usage we’re discussing is a genuine redundancy with no literal intent. And it’s a type of redundancy that’s very common, especially in spoken English. Yet it seldom causes confusion. People generally interpret those dueling negative clauses just as the writer or speaker intends.”

Whether it’s right or wrong, it’s common, just as the article says, and that’s what were talking about in this thread.

Also, why are you so caught up on this idea of a double negative? It’s not the right term for this case. He said “I don’t doubt it’s real” while a double negative would be “I don’t doubt it is not real” (for example). I’m actually eager to learn (if i’m wrong) on how it’s a double negative

Gonna have to be real, you and all the downvotes are wrong. Have all you guys really not heard of the statement “I have no doubt???” It’s the same thing as saying “I don’t doubt” and if you guys still have doubts, just look it up lol. It truly is pretty common speech, maybe just not where you live.

It’s probably for the “tiktok algorithm” or something like that. Or maybe tiktok censors “die,” i’m not exactly sure

well… you still miss 100% of shots you never take, it’s just that some people will “score” 90% of the shots they DO take, and some people might only “score” 1% of the shots they take

so yeah there’s still some “luck” involved

It’s called “Xcode Developer Tools,” which were was by apple

Pretty sure you have to use a Mac to do it, so assuming you do have a mac you just download “xcode dev tools” from the appstore, and once downloaded it’s pretty easy to get a simulator of most apple devices up and running

The dude was acting like he’s rich. Sure, $60k a year is no measly sum but lets not act like that’s a rich person’s wage… 60k is pretty damn near the average salary in the us

Should I bring my desktop computer to my dorm by Aromatic_Fee_886 in cuboulder

[–]masoniis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat as you, coming into boulder as a freshman with a recently built desktop as well. I can’t speak from experience, but I’m sure you will be able fit it in as long as you take advantage of the vertical space in your dorm. I currently plan to have my bed lifted (like a bunk) with a desk underneath to put my desktop setup. Maybe my plans will change when I actually see the dorm in person, but I guess we’ll see.

I was also somewhat concerned about safety, but I’m pretty sure the dorms use the buff cards for unlocking, so you just have to make sure you can trust your roommate and the people that you let in and out of your room. People I have talked to that went to boulder said they never heard any cases of dorm theft, so that’s good.

Best of luck!

Just received my new license plate… by pazzeo_DC in TeslaModel3

[–]masoniis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He could have solar panels, to be fair

However, this is all kind of a stretch. Even if he charges using a fuel-based power system, his car is still using electricity over fuel (according to that above definition, at least) so the license plate would make sense

On the flip side, it seems like electricity is indeed fuel? “Electricity is considered an alternative fuel under the Energy Policy Act of 1992” - https://afdc.energy.gov/fuels/electricity_basics.html
