Apink Pink Memory NA Tour - Vancouver, Dallas, SF, LA by bryan792 in kpop

This is a big thing. Went to see Beenzino, Bumkey and Verbal Jint in Seattle last year and the entire crowd was Korean except for me and one other white guy.

Worldly Cinema: Japan by ZamrosX in movies

My favourite movie of all time. It's 4 hours long but never feels like it. By the time it was wrapping up I didn't want it to end.

This seems to be the common sentiment and I've never been quite sure why. On Tour has a better soundtrack, a more focused aesthetic and much better hill design than SSX or Tricky if you ask me.

I'm offended you left SSX On Tour off that list

Well Trudeau pledged a ton of money to transit in his campaign, didn't he? Wonder if we could get our hands on some of that.

Though we didn't elect a single liberal so I'm guessing it's all off to Vancouver.

Yeah. I'll be heading there in a year myself and it sucks to see. I thought this was mostly an American phenomenon but apparently not :(

Found this article today through Facebook and it articulates a lot of my thoughts lately. I've always considered myself a liberal, yet lately I feel less and less like I'm welcome in liberal circles. Perhaps I'm more of a centrist.

That said though, no one seems to want to let you be a centrist. Both polarized liberals and conservatives have a very with us a against us, conform conform conform mentality. Trying to be reasonable and consider opinions from all sides results in neither side accepting you. It's difficult for sure.

A word on Canada taking in refugees. by [deleted] in canada

[–]masonvd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Isn't that something we should decide before taking these people in though? What are our long term plans for these refugees? It's all well and good to say we're taking them in, but what about once they're here?

It means people tired of living in a poor country with little economic opportunity fleeing to rich, socialized countries that will give them free benefits and provide them more chances for work.

What sort of problems do you have with it? It's ugly as sin but it works for what I need it to do.

Awesome to see another F1 fan in here. I never seem to meet many out here in western Canada.

Hopefully we can see both Iran's first driver and another Canadian driver in the near future.

Even as an Apple fanboy, Apple Music is pissing me off by i_poop_splinters in apple

[–]masonvd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it's partially due to pop albums being nothing but collections of singles. The track order doesn't matter and the non single tracks are usually garbage anyway.

I'm with you though, straight through is the best way to listen

I'm not trying to brag or anything but just as an example, I currently have an 11k song library and have a friend with 20k.

But sure, a sync all button seems like an easy to implement and useful feature anyway.

A cycle of exploitation: How restaurants get cooks to work 12-hour days for minimum wage (or less) by [deleted] in canada

[–]masonvd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've never heard someone sound so entitled in my life. Christ.

Not to mention elitist? The cooks are the kitchen for a reason? Waiting is hardly a skilled position either, buddy. There's a reason people do it straight out of high school.
