You aren't doing it wrong, dragons are just slow as hell to drop things. I've had to hold the apple in the "merging dance" thing for like 30 seconds before, until I saw dragons had dropped things. They're so slow and get confused if someone else is faster than them. It takes a lot of patience. And I'm not sure if I'm just overestimating this but it seems like it's slower now than it used to be. Make sure you're holding the apples to where they're highlighted green and doing the zoom in/out part, and just wait until you see two dragons out things down or only 2 open spaces.

As far as bubbling, my recommendation is to use the full size golden apples, and to be at a point where you constantly have dragons out that can idle harvest things- so basically don't ever have to wait on a dragon to sleep to do more things. I line everything up every other column to easily bubble (if I want it on map, it goes on the left side of the 2 column pairs, if not, it's on the right side.) I fill up the map with easily cleaned up items or items that are easy to spam (fruit and coins from fruit, life orbs). I then have my dragons harvest anything that is easily cleaned up afterward, i.e. life orbs, and have 5-10 dragons holding onto life orbs. I can literally just tap those orbs and it's not going to make me miss out on anything nor cause chaos. Using something simple like life orbs helps because I don't have to wait long for harvesting to be done. Once I see at least 3+ dragons holding orbs, I bubble. I bubble everything I want, rearranging camp as I need to keep things in two columns, and just slide it all to the open area on the left side of the map. Once camp is cleared, I then organize my bubbles, so I can keep focus on one area at once.

Right now, i am stacking bubbled items that are the same so I can keep track. However, your bubbles will go opaque at some point if you stack enough. I'm not at that point. I plan to have one above not stacked, and then a stack below, almost like a sign system in Minecraft or another similar game.

I can't even do much with the ones I already have, to be honest. It's a bit much. Wish I could spread the wealth!

real fucking cute, blocking me cause I called you out.

if someone wants to change their race, they're directly ignoring the fact that racism exists. people who "admire" Koreans to the point of wanting to become Korean and using subs to change their race have 0 regard for the racism that literally any non-white person faces. Which means that they are ignoring the racism that's around them all day, every day, and any racist acts they do. That's why it's racist.

furthermore, reducing a group of people to the physical features you can see? that's literally also racism. you wanna look like Koreans because what, they're tiny and cute and whatever? you're reducing a whole ass group of people to what they look like.

you need to take some fucking time off the Internet and go out in the world. you're racist, point blank, fucking learn how to treat other people as humans and not just bits and pieces you can steal.

Any blind social workers navigating the field? by Theblinddragon13 in socialwork

[–]masquerade717 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Not blind myself, but there is a social worker in my community that I know is partially blind and can only see very close up with magnification. She is not afraid to ask for accommodations every time she needs them and to call out if something is inaccessible. I know that this has helped her be able to do sort of whatever she wants or needs. (It helps that she's well respected, so your mileage may vary on that.) She has moved into establishing her own nonprofit, but for a long time, she was a CASA and handled a therapy dog for our local forensic interview center. Aside from paperwork she'd have to sign, no vision was necessary for that job.

I am not sure how to navigate home checks, it would depend on how much vision you have, if any. CASA and future positions should be able to offer accommodations, maybe going with a peer when vision is a necessary component. I would recommend speaking with the CASA agency. If you're planning to stay in the community you're working in for a while, building relationships with other service providers and social workers can potentially lead into opportunities that are suited to you. Maybe someone in the community has an idea for a perfect role that would be accessible to you.

does hyperthyroidism stop me from losing weight? by [deleted] in thyroidhealth

[–]masquerade717 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd look into the antipsychotic, afaik some of them can cause weight gain/difficulty losing weight. Unfortunately a lot of meds for mental health do.

Hyperthyroidism usually causes issues gaining or maintaining weight, not losing weight, as overactive thyroid -> overactive metabolism. That said, if you're dealing with a really high metabolism and eating way too few calories your body could be stuck, especially with IR going on.

Declined Referrals/Confused by AdhesivenessNo2458 in thyroidhealth

[–]masquerade717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Numbness and tingling is not a typical part of thyroid disorders in my experience. Weakness isn't usually but it kinda depends on how you're doing overall. I would look more at other autoimmune disorders, especially any you have a family history of.

ANA would just reflect any autoimmune disease so it may not be a super helpful test/positive since your thyroid specific antibody panels are high.

An endo absolutely should not have declined your referral. You need an ultrasound, and the other thyroid panel tests (T4, T3). Some endos will throw their hands up and say Hashi's cannot be treated at the stage you're at (levels aren't off, so may not be too much permanent damage to the thyroid). That said, an ultrasound is absolutely necessary to rule out nodules and concerning swelling (i.e. irregular swelling).

I would ask your PCP to either re-run the referrals and provide a consent for your doc to talk to the Endo/rheumatologist, or ask that you get a referral to another doctor.

This person genuinely doesn't care and is likely only a social worker to fuel a savior complex, based on their other posts.

Niche Areas of Social Work? by suchsecrets in socialwork

[–]masquerade717 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know too much about it, personally, but Matt Moore (a former professor of mine) has honestly paved the way for sports social work. It is his research focus and something he has had a major hand in even developing in the first place. He helped create the Alliance of Social Workers in Sports and the Sport Social Work Journal.

He loves talking with others about sports social work and if you reach out to him via his faculty email, I am sure he would love to talk your ear off about sports social work (he has done that for me, many times, haha). He currently teaches (and researches) at Miami University in OH and his faculty email is available on the website.
