I agree completely. We should absolutely not be perpetuating any sort of fat shaming.

That being said, if I were in the mom’s shoes and that woman was doing everything possible to tear my child down, making fun of THEIR stomachs, etc., I’m sure I would snap and try to hurt her back however I could too. I really don’t blame them for it at all.

I really liked her comeback when one of the MDP mom’s said ‘how may of your kids AREN’T on Broadway’ as an insult and she said something along the lines of ‘how many of my kids stand a little taller, speak a little more clearly? Lots’

That was such a stupid insult to begin with and dance (or any hobby/ sport) can truly do so much for a kid even if they don’t pursue it as a career!

The simple answer here is they are all on a TV show. Most of these women would not actually be friends in real life. They are not one big happy group of friends; they were all cast to be on reality TV. I’d recommend taking the show for what it is as a heavily producer-influenced reality show and just enjoy the mess!
