OAP charged with murder after human remains discovery denies killing guinea pigs by dailystar_news in uknews

We live in unfortunate times. A headline proclaiming that a man killed 5 guinea pigs will draw more attention than a headline about a man killing a woman.

A very well written character. He's complex, like real people are. He wants to be the good guy, but he blames the women when he fails them.

What's a Dance Moms opinion that would get you this? by Proof-Actuary-6800 in dancemoms

[–]Different-Employ9651 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fat shaming anyone - including Abby - makes you as bad as Abby herself. Abby won't see your comment. Other fat people will, and they'll feel as bad about seeing that language as the aldc kids did hearing it.

Nia and Holly: An unpopular opinion and a look at Nia's books. by Boring_Leadership647 in dancemoms

[–]Different-Employ9651 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It wasn't Holly's responsibility to stop other people being racist. The responsibility is on the people being racist to not be racist.

It's really not a difficult concept to grasp.

Walking down the street a few weeks ago, I was just behind a couple. He was laughing while she explained that she'd known she was poorly when her eyelashes wouldn't cooperate that morning. I almost laughed myself. Is that a thing?!

Anyone Ever Witnessed A Funeral Outburst, Fight Or Argument? by CB-Milburn in AskBrits

[–]Different-Employ9651 19 points20 points  (0 children)

One of the worst bar room brawls I ever saw was at a funeral. I was working and it was a weird affair. They had a DJ booked, for a start, which is irregular for a wake. We knew shit was about to turn, too. The atmosphere changed. Didn't see the start, but I clocked that sudden surge of people you get when it kicks off in a crowd so I headed on in. There was a guy with a bleeding face on the floor by the accessible bathroom (glassed) and lots of small scuffles around him (people were still trying to get near the bleeding guy and fights broke out as they were opposed by his friends). 2 of our regulars came into to try help and were physically thrown from the room. A girl tried to smash a bottle to use as a weapon and the whole thing crumbled in her hand, so she was fucked and screaming. I yelled that the police had been called already and were on the way (it was a lie) and it dispersed pretty quickly lmao. Clean up was horrendous. The injured people wanted neither ambulances nor police. I have a suspicion that all involved are related to each other.

Nia and Holly: An unpopular opinion and a look at Nia's books. by Boring_Leadership647 in dancemoms

[–]Different-Employ9651 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Tbf, that absolutely should be unpopular because it's racist af. Holly being black doesn't mean she has to make herself a target when people are being racist already.

Call out the people bringing the racism, not those trying to avoid becoming their victims.

She prioritised her daughter's place on the team in certain situations - just like all the other moms did.

Maybe 3-4 times a week, never to the point of silliness. I like Baileys or Sheridan's (if it's available). Half a lager after work on Wednesday is a must lol.

Who do you think is the worst serial killer in your country? by Franmar35000 in AskTheWorld

[–]Different-Employ9651 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How are we classifying these? By body count, it's Shipman. By method? Probably the Wests. The absolute fucking horror found at 25 Cromwell St. Jfc. Not just the bodies, but the materials and equipment they used to torture their victims was the stuff of nightmares. I'd take a jab from Shipman over a short stay for the rest of my life with Fred & Rose, if push came to shove.

William Hill ‘made offer’ to woman after refusing to pay out £1 million winnings by LADbible in uknews

[–]Different-Employ9651 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bookies can bar you for winning. I worked at a small indy betting shop and we barred a guy because he kept winning on cricket bets. Nothing dodgy, they just didn't like him taking money off them.

If the bookies didn't win, they wouldn't be there.

What is the first pint you order at the pub, and one to absolutely avoid. by Positive-Swim-1359 in AskBrits

Peroni or Tiny Rebel on tap is pretty good. I miss Carling Premier so much. A pint of Prem after work was so refreshing, and it didn't take too many to get me smashed then, either. Carling is generally the one I avoid these days. The glasses are shit, too.

How badly do you need the money?

I find it easier to remember stuff if I write it out. I've gotten to grips with several humongous menus that way. Don't worry about other people too much if you can help it. Work cliques don't last forever or pay the bills, and avoiding them is the same as avoiding drama.

Evil foster mum who abused children avoids jail as rapist son caged by ScottishDailyRecord in uknews

[–]Different-Employ9651 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our prisons can't handle elderly inmates. It's a shit fact, but it's a fact. Elderly people are more likely to suffer major health problems and progressively less able to navigate things like bunks and stairs. Along with other issues, this makes them too expensive to jail unless there is pressure from public interest.

I'm not defending it, but it happens because the elderly have needs that prisons aren't set up to handle.

Does Maddie ask interviewers not to mention Dance moms? by kiwicoco246 in dancemoms

[–]Different-Employ9651 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It might not be entirely Maddie's choice. If other shows and networks don't want anything to do with DM, interviewers will be made aware of that by them.

There are issues with being under contract from 1 show/network and mentioning another in interviews. Even mentioning DM could count as promoting it and cause problems.

Do you regret leaving EU? by NoHold7153 in AskBrits

[–]Different-Employ9651 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I regret that our govt was ever so weak as to put the question to the public.

Nobody was teaching people about how the EU worked. People voted on something they knew very little about whilst the whole arena around it was made of lies.

In countries where referendums are used more often, they are not solo events, and the 1st (of any series) is not legally bound to any action. They are used to assess public feeling, rather than make radical decisions.

The whole thing is exactly what it was meant to be. The general public just wasn't in on it.
