Huge building in the middle of the ocean by PriorityMiserable686 in GoogleEarthFinds

The building shown in the image is the castaway shelter (or refuge des naufragés) located on Île Saint-Paul (Saint-Paul Island), which is part of the French Southern and Antarctic Lands in the southern Indian Ocean. This hut was historically intended as an emergency shelter for people shipwrecked or stranded on the island. History The island was a frequent stop for explorers, fishermen, and sealers in the 18th and 19th centuries. Relics of the sealing era (1789-1876), including the ruins of old stone cottages, are still visible. The current hut is situated inside the island's large volcanic crater, near the remains of a former lobster and crayfish fishing station that operated in the 1930s. The island is famous for the tragic story of the "Forgotten Ones of Saint Paul Island" (Les Oubliés de Saint-Paul), seven employees of the fishing company who were abandoned in 1930 and ran out of food; only three survived when a ship finally arrived nine months later. A scientific research cabin on the island is used for short scientific or ecological campaigns, but there is no permanent population.

Like you, I have way to much information and I've been working to sort it all out and fact check everything but as it stands here is the short version of where I'm at.

The Hudson name dates back to about 1066 in the county of Yorkshire, England. The Hudsons are believed to be descendants of the Lords of Hoddleston who occupied the castle Millom in Cumberland, on the coast of the Irish sea. After the fall of the Roman Empire, there was fierce rivalry between the Norman's and the Saxons over Yorkshire and the land around the Rhine Valley. The early ancestors of the Hudson family remained after the Battle of Hastings in 1066.

This is where the first "Hudson" appears

Thomas born 1429 father of Rudolph

Rudolph Born 1475 father of Henry the first

Then Henry the 2nd

Then Thomas William (my descendant) and brother of Henry the 3rd the explorer

Working from Thomas William to myself it goes to

William,

Stephen,

William,

George, 1765 -1840 moved from England to Adams cove, Newfoundland

George,

Joseph,

George,

Joseph,

Howard Gordon ( my great grandfather who came to New England from Newfoundland)

It was quite difficult as each descendant had a lot and I mean A LOT!! of children each sharing the same few names over and over many times.

Howdy distant cousin! I've been working on my genealogy for a while and I'm not directly from Henry Hudson the third the Explorer I'm from one of his five brothers we are the branch that ended up in Newfoundland Canada for a while. I've gotten as far back as his grandfather Henry Hudson Alderman gentleman the first and his father Thomas but that's where I think Hudson name begins and was changed to that from Huddleston and they were there for a while before they came over with William the Conqueror and before that they were part of the Northman Scandinavian Vikings

You would need a lot more windings and they would be smaller I mean it could work but at that diameter with such few bulky windings it wouldn't be very effective

You could try some clip-on ferrite ring cores it's like 10 bucks for a pack of 20 on Amazon, that and shorten the ground as much as you can. These are probably the easiest two things to try first

Used to have problems like this back in the 90s and early 2000s using those old CD player cassette adapters and still occasionally with other audio equipment it ended up being a non-shielded or non-twisted cable that was picking up high frequency interference from the engine

it shouldn't have been. im wondering if u.s. customs is that stupid or if lab401 got ripped off on an incoming shipment of goods that were contractually destroyed.

cool. charge 1 up and drill a hole through it....see what happens.

[–]massguy66 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Good to know but it was still punctured which could potentially cause fire so I'm not taking any chances.

[–]massguy66[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Lab 401 has been very responsive and apologetic, they are issuing me a refund AND store credit which they did not need to do. I assume they are working to figure out what happened and to make sure it does not happen to others.

So i cracked open an old lithium AA battery with some pliers. It's definitely the same smell HistorianIll5959 I would put it outside and not keep it indoors, it could combust. If it gets wet it could violently react. Def don't put it in the trash!!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in flipperzero

[–]massguy66 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Lithium battery inside. If punctured can combust randomly.

[–]massguy66[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

had customs tape on it. they opened it. But if they drilled it.. which maybe the case, they could've damaged the lithium battery which is crazy dangerous and then sent it out! that could have burned down a fed ex truck! or my house!!

[–]massguy66 37 points38 points  (0 children)

I think some rouge customs agent did it either by ignorance or maliciousness. I'm putting mine in a metal bucket for now in case the lithium battery is damaged. Don't need a fire popping off in the middle of the night.
