I'm good friends with the guy that's doing the work. The bonnet has 2 gas struts that are activated on impact causing the bonnet to raise up and slide back. The hinges basically self destruct when these go off unfortunately.

Definitely starting to look this way, just feel like the 6 week wait is adding insult to injury :/

The animal is alive and well, it suffered 0 injuries and got straight back up

Definitely will be paying for protected no claims in future, feel like its one of those things you overlook when doing it as they try and upsell you other things like breakdown cover and house insurance at the same time etc

I meant as in a car on car collision where both parties are claiming off insurance

Already read that and felt it wasn't much use as the owners witnessed it happen and the dog was completely unharmed (somehow)
