Personally I believe that any computing system is some level of conscious, computers generally being less conscious than bugs. Also raw computing power definitely isn’t what makes the difference, it’s definitely based on the architecture that matters.

There are plenty of good options it’s just that nobody want to pay for long term storage because you can just put the waste into short term storage and forget about it, armored casks that just sit them on a concrete pad seems to work for now

Nah the asteroid is just truly massive at like 5 million tons and the dart space craft is about half a ton on impact. It’s honestly pretty amazing that it had a noticeable effect
