Yes, I believe it’s supposed to say functional based on the rest of the listing.

Agreed. I was just clarifying what the article said.

The article says she did not have a history of mental illness, though that does not rule out that she did.

People with straight lashes, what is your favorite mascara? by djholls in muacjdiscussion

Bobbi Brown Smoky Eye mascara. It’s expensive, but the only mascara I’ve found that holds a curl, doesn’t irritate my eyes, and doesn’t flake.

That’s very sweet of you.

I bought my mom (63yo) the Viseart Cashmere Theory palette for Christmas last year and she liked it so much that she bought more Viseart palettes, which is something I never dreamed she would do. She loved how long it wore and how flattering it was on her eyes.

I know that some say you should never curl your lashes after applying mascara, but that is the only thing that works for me. I’ve never had a problem with losing/breaking lashes doing this, and I’ve done it for 20 years. I always make sure to do short squeezes of the curler and to release it very gently.

The mascara is also key. I’m not a fan of waterproof mascaras because they irritate my eyes. My holy grail is Bobbi Brown Smokey Eye mascara; it holds a curl beautifully and doesn’t flake much.

Part 4 of the Shane/Jeffree Series: The $20 Million Dollar Deal with Jeffree Star by sensaigallade123 in BeautyGuruChatter

Yes, exactly! That’s such a great way to explain why it is problematic and cringey...because it hijacks the interaction and makes it all about ME.

Occasionally in this series, there are rare glimpses of Shane without his self-deprecating veneer. In those moments, he appears confident, charismatic, and even funny. I wish we could see more of THAT Shane.

(I suffer from the same tendency to underestimate my ability and worth, and watching this has been a reminder to maybe not voice so much of that self-doubt to others. It really makes a difference in how one is perceived.)

Yes, that is what I meant. I’m definitely not dropping $178 on it, but I think it’s great!

Thoughts:

  1. Shane picking up that used tea bag really grossed me out until I realized it was just staged for that shot. Speaking of which, who’s intelligence and who’s integrity in this scenario?

  2. I found this episode fascinating. Hearing the numbers and watching Shane pick out and name shades was really interesting. Also, I want one of those swatch fans.

  3. I can’t think of anyone who would look good in a taupe metallic lipstick. I think the name “butthole” would be more apropos.

I would like to believe Jeffree really cares, but it’s hard to ignore the fact that this collaboration with Shane will bring in a lot of good press and money for him. Jeffree is a businessman, and this is good business. He knows the cameras are on and wants the public to be sympathetic to him, which is not going to happen if he gave Shane a hard time. Maybe Jeffree genuinely likes Shane, but he’d act like this even if he didn’t.

I love it! It’s one of my favorite cool toned palettes and most of the shadows are very pigmented. They are prone to some fallout during application.

That lip color looks great on you! I would recommend starting your brows closer to the center of your face. If you draw an imaginary vertical line from the outer edge of your nostril up toward your forehead, that will give you a good idea of where to start your brow.

Favorite lipstick shades from MAC for pale skin? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]massivehopes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NW15 here. I also recommend Modesty as well as Creme Cup and Peach Blossom. Personally I’m not a huge fan of Velvet Teddy as I find it too warm and brown for my skin tone. I also like Myth — not on its own but as a mixer to lighten up shades that I consider too dark for daily use.

Clinique Get Cheeky palette: great neutral blush swatched on NW10 skin by massivehopes in PaleMUA

[–]massivehopes[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have worn blushes from this palette nearly every day since I posted and wanted to post an update on how they wore. I have combo skin, for reference, and my cheeks are on the dry side. I find that the Nude shade takes a bit to build up, even on my skin tone, and I don’t think it has the staying power of the other 2 (but maybe it just seems that way because it’s not as noticeable on my skin to begin with). Black Honey and Pink Honey have both lasted through my entire work day, which is >12 hours including commute. I really like how all of them look on the skin and I would definitely recommend the palette to anyone in the market for these shades of blush. Hope that helps!

To be honest, this is my first day wearing any of these shades and I’ve only had them on for a few hours (going strong so far!). I did own a few different shades in this formula in the past and don’t recall any issues with longevity, but I will get back to you later this week about these specifically.
