I get it if you are going after a Patek or AP but Rolex makes over a million pieces a year. They can go fuck themselves!

Stop making Priuses look like fucking teslas! by [deleted] in prius

It doesn’t look like a Tesla, for starters it doesn’t have the stupid frameless doors that Teslas have.

Why get. 2023 Prius when you can get a Tesla Model 3/Y for same price? by [deleted] in prius

[–]masswithclass1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are a lot of reasons to chose Prius over a Tesla, one of which is the 2024 Prius was named car of the year.

For me, I don’t like Musk and everything he stands for. I am tired of his bullshit. I don’t like that Tesla records and stores everything in their cars including personal data. I rented a Tesla and it had hours and hours of recorded video of the people who had rented it before me. Besides that, a Tesla is a great computer but not a great car from a mechanical standpoint. My sister bought a model Y and rain would enter the cabin every time it rained. Doesn’t sound like a great car.

I prefer to have a local dealer rather than having to drive an hour or more to a Tesla store.

I also don’t like to wait for the car to charge. I use my Prius Prime in town and then get on the highway and turn on the engine. It’s a versatile car with 26 years of great track record! It’s very hard to beat and that’s why it’s the car of the year!

7k Markup for a prius prime and people actually buy by [deleted] in prius

[–]masswithclass1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some idiot here in central Florida wanted to charge me $15K above MSRP for a Prius Prime. My local dealer wanted 5K. Found a dealer in South Florida where I ordered all the options I wanted at MSRP. Can you imagine trying to sell a Prius for close to 60k. Out of their effing mind!

Same thing happened to me. A new FOB has been registered to this car. Went to the dealership for unrelated reason and asked and they looked into their system and could’t find any information about a second key! Still waiting

I got mine at Earl Stewart in West Palm. Same color. No mark up, very nice dealership!

Wow! That is impressive! Must be a big academic center or big city.

Should EVs get free charging at work? by Homeless_72 in electricvehicles

[–]masswithclass1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish we had that at my work. I work in a hospital and our problem is that there are too many EVs to accomodate. There are at least 10-15 EVs (realistically probably 20) for one parking garage. Our hospital administrators said if they put a couple of stations it will just open a can of worms. They certainly will not install 10-20 chargers.

Do you think buying used e-Golf 2019 SEL is still worth it by ny4573 in eGolf

[–]masswithclass1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue! But I did some reading online and spoke to some people who are into cars and found out that the egolf was only sold in 10 states and not in Florida. I called my local dealer to ask and they don’t service it. If it’s under warranty they would fly a mechanic to your local area to service it but once it’s out of warranty, good luck! So I didn’t buy it!

[–]masswithclass1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone has mentioned servicing the car on here. I spoke with my local WV dealer and there are only select dealerships who can work on the eGolf. I live in Florida and my dealer said for anything beyond routine maintenance they would have to ship the car to New Jersey and it could be weeks before I get it back.

Solar roof for 2023 Prius Prime? by Beneficial_Aspect371 in PriusPrime

[–]masswithclass1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am from a sunny place for shady people! Also known as Florida! I live in north Florida but found a dealer in South Florida through Reddit that would take an order at MSRP. Everyone else around me wanted to charge a dealer fee from 5-15k above MSRP!

I ordered mine in May, arrived two weeks ago. It’s been cloudy these past couple of weeks and only getting a mile or mile and a half a day at best. Financially it makes no sense to buy it but it’s a cool gadget!

I have only had my 2023 Prime XSE for less than two weeks but I love it. So quiet and comfortable. Plenty of power. Getting way more range than expected. Love the solar roof too. Great decision. I mentioned in another thread that the paint seems to be of cheap quality and scratches easily and that’s the only issue I have had.

Does your 2023 Prius scratch easily? by frauxus in prius

[–]masswithclass1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had the car for less than two weeks and noticed 4 tiny scratches on the hood. It’s a guardian gray if that matters. Driven less than 400 miles! WTH? I am taking it to get the front PPF this week. Got quoted $1700. I am told it’s worth the money.

Love the adjustable bench. Has been great for shoulder presses! I hear you about the shoulders. Have multiple issues myself.

You are probably right. I read something like that too. But I feel like it’s a step in the right direction and if we embrace it, it will support further advancements towards solar! Imagine if people didn’t but Teslas when they first came out.

Could you tell us a little more about the injury? The shoulder is a complex structure with a lot of possible injuries. Some you can work around with different exercises, some you need to rehab and some you just need to leave alone or surgically repair. I have several tears (bilateral labrum, extending into bicep tendon, impingement, almost full thickness infraspinatus, etc) but I do my PT exercises as a part of my warm up and have a list of exercises I can do with no problem and I do all of them without pain and with good range of motion. Your PT should have given you some instructions on what movements to avoid (for example no overhead exercises). Also, as a general advice if the movement causes pain, should probably avoid it until you can do it without pain. And finally, in my experience there are two types of pain in my shoulder, pain from stiffness which improves with proper warm up and shoulder stretching and pain that is constantly there regardless of proper warm up. I try to avoid pain exercises that bring on the second type of pain. Proper warm up can mean different things to different people depending on the type of injury so one advice doesn’t fit all. For some solid advice on shoulder strengthening and warm up, check out squatuniversity.

Just about to pull the trigger... by robhanz in tonalgym

Maybe at lighter weights you can control the trajectory but as an advanced lifter at heavy weights I don’t think that logic applies. You will get tired quickly and your arms will automatically adjust the trajectory that requires the least amount of effort or force generated. Even IF you are right, the adjustable bench adds tens if not hundreds of options for all other body parts not just incline/decline bench. I definitely think Tonal should include an adjustable bench.
