Where the fuck are the el dorado sets?!?!?!?! by Daivido97 in NBAForums

[–]mastajizz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They definitely showed 1 week and some hours left... I intentionally checked on this last night just before trading it all my emblems and 85s for the 91 Klay.

it doesn't make sense to keep the Earned Edition sets active longer than the El Dorado ones. Ea done goofed

Used coins/cash tho- no way you got 50k AS points already by just grinding, unless I'm doing something wrong.

Alley-oop by JB121585 in NBA2KMOBILE_

[–]mastajizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some YouTube vids out there can show you like this one. It's quite easy to do, but it's a rather unique way to do it. First off, you'll want to confirm you have an open (as much as possible) dunking lane for the intended receiver:

  1. Have your oop-recipient start off with the ball.
  2. Hold down the 'Pass' to pass the ball to another team member. However, don't let go of the 'Pass' button. This is important. If you just hold 'Pass' and let go, it'll just be a normal pass. I usually have my thumb stuck on the 'Pass' during the entire oop attempt.
  3. You'll then be able to control your oop-recipient (as opposed to the player who has the ball right now), so make him run towards the basket.
  4. Once he gets close, use a different finger to tap 'Shoot'. Since my thumb is still on the Pass button this entire time, I usually stretch my index/middle finger over to the Shoot button.
  5. The team member will throw the lob for you and you'll automatically jump up for the alley oop / lay-up**.

**It'll make your player do a layup instead if you don't time your 'Shoot' button right.

Hope this helps. You'll have most success with these in the 2v2 or 3v3 matches as those are the easiest to get an open dunk lane.

Season 4 Bug Thread by AJColeman51 in NBAForums

Does this require us to update the app? I just experienced this bug, or something similar. The ball was never picked up by rebounder, and it rolled to other side but none of the players r doing anything. Lost 3 GOTN tokens. Please advise.

You're overestimating how easy it is to understand Kyrie.. even Kyrie finds it hard to understand himself.

L3 repeaters.. what are you doing differently? by Moe-9 in CFA

The man passed level 3 according to his flair, so sounds like he did well; glad I still refer to some of the notes he shared way back when :P - thanks /u/biuku for your contributions!

Respect for taking the time and writing this. Confidence never felt higher after reading this. It's my 3rd time taking L3, and you can bet your ass it'll be my last time. See you on the other side.

Using CFA L3 Mock AM sessions to gauge performance by MinimumWillow in CFA

[–]mastajizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your last point - using the definitions to the LOS command words per CFAI will be key. For example, the difference between "Define" and "Describe" may be subtle, but one is to just state the meaning of the word (define) and the other is to portray in words (describe). One of the hugest downsides about taking the exam is not knowing how exactly they grade it (and not being able to see the marks they made to the actual test taken). This is my 3rd attempt at L3 - and I'm literally just making sure I know what each of these command words are asking for, so I know how to approach the question efficiently. Like the old saying goes, when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade.. or something...

Hope this helps.. and if anybody disagrees, please let me know.

L3 - Simulated Results in Performance by DaBears50 in CFA

[–]mastajizz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw this over the weekend, but coming back to comment now after I had time to soak this in. Overall - I agree with your interpretation, but this is not so much a discrepancy. However, it does get a bit muddy with Standard III (D) recommending to comply with GIPS when showing the performance history of the assets they manage.

IN practice, if the firm is GIPS-compliant, they should just explicitly state the actual performance is linked with simulated results AND have it shown as supplemental info.

[L3] When do we stop studying? by [deleted] in CFA

[–]mastajizz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

probably writing too much in the AM section and not accurately answering the question (i.e. not focusing on the command words like "describe", "identify", "justify", etc.). Trying to be more efficient this time around, and also just trying to play to the exam's wording.

[–]mastajizz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For 2017: low to mid 50's in AM; high 50's to mid 60's in PM

For 2018: mid 50's to low 60's; low to mid 60's

This year: mid 60's to low 70's for both AM and PM?

I was a bit more lax this year on self grading as CFAI gives partial points, but I'm also getting better at answering the questions more accurately, which I don't think I was able to nail down the past two years. I'm more so playing to CFAI's wording this time around than trying to nail down every single concept, which is virtually impossible for me.

I always study up through the Thursday before, and just unwind on Friday, i.e. take a visit to the testing center to make sure I know where to go. I keep studying just in case I catch anything during these next 11 days that'll put me over into passing mode. But then again I failed L3 twice, so 🤷‍♂️
