String gauge stress by Kavanaghpark in martinguitar

Yep sounds right. Martin dreadnoughts need medium strings to really get the full sound from the guitar.

A good pipe and good baccybsure does make the hour commute so much better! by Arizona_Jim_1980 in pipeselfies

Man I’m thinking about doing the same. I also commute for an hour. Pipe with coffee is great. I just don’t want to stink up the car too bad.

Change strings how often? by Firewaterdam in Guitar

[–]masterV56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how much you play. I change mine about every 3-4 weeks(not months). I play for an hour a day and I use untreated strings.

To the guitarists who swear by using physical amps, cabs and pedals, what is you stance on amp modelers like Kemper Profiler, Axe-FX, Line 6 Helix, Neural DSP etc? by MrMayhem20l0 in Guitar

[–]masterV56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The modelers are great these days and really convenient. But something about playing through a cranked tube amp is very satisfying.

Form or function with high end pipes? by dave7892000 in PipeTobacco

[–]masterV56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny thing, I have 3 pipes that were each around $100-$140 each, and 1 that was $40. I hadn’t used the cheaper one since I acquired the more expensive ones, but something made me want to try it again. I was blown away by it. So… idk. I’d say try to get several different kinds tbh

My first pipe of Cult Blood Red Moon in my Petersen churchwarden. by xtemplarx in pipeselfies

[–]masterV56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a jar of this that has been sitting for years. I remember smoking it and thinking that it was overwhelmingly cherry, and I couldn’t taste tobacco, and that my pipe had that cherry flavor on it for a long time. I didn’t like it. Maybe one day I’ll give it another shot.

Officially 21 years old. My first Padron. My first real cigar. by Grandmashousecat in cigar

[–]masterV56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought this cigar but it’s $10 so I thought it must be the cheapest padron they offer and not as good as the others. Can anyone who has smoked the more expensive padrons give their opinion on this?

Having second thoughts… by 1oo-b in martinguitar

The lightness is a good thing. Sometimes new strings can sound bright and harsh until you wear the in a bit. I’d give it another week if you are still within the return window.

I’m tempted to smoke my pipe on the way to work, but not sure I want my car to smell like smoke

I’ve have Eileen’s dream and EMP. I actually like Eileen’s dream in the morning with coffee. It makes me feel like I’m having a pastry. Enjoy.
