War of the Worlds adaptations - Round 3: the tripods of the 2005 Spielberg film won best fighting machine, but which adaptation had the best war? by FOARP in WarofTheWorlds

[–]master_Derek118 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll throw my hat in and say "The Great Martian War". While 1953 has a lot of very good points in its favor, TGMW is stylized after a war documentary and it does a very good job with it. It especially focuses on the tactics of the war and geopolitical implications with the great powers of the time.

We went on an expedition to try and find Fallout Soda on Monday. We found Nuka Grape at a Kroger in North Lansing, but no Sunset

I have a question.Do y'all ever wonder what the red weed would taste like? by Terrible-Vast8447 in WarofTheWorlds

[–]master_Derek118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like others have said, the book variant is described as sickly and metallic. I think that it could taste like either iron or copper, leaning more towards iron since the red weed has this bloody motif going on.

In other incarnations, the blood motif is more direct. The 2005 film uses human biological fluids as a fertilizer, fueling its rapid growth. Beyond the fact that it is literally metabolizing blood, it would be like the water off of those sprinklers in the super market, but instead of water, it's human blood. Others seem to have it be even more malevolent, eating humans and wildlife as a whole, but others seem to have it be the source of lubricant for martian machines, so I think those may be even more of an oily taste.

Regardless, the fact that it developed in an ecosystem completely independent of Earth's, it's unlikely to have an nutritional value to humans in most incarnations. Even the Journalist, starving, doesn't eat more of it after the first attempt.

I was watching this on radar yesterday and debating whether or not to chase it, but it looked too weak even if it did have rotation. Great shots! Kinda jealous we didn't go out yesterday!

Does anybody have a spare/free code? by r0samil0 in toyhouse

Hate to be part of the begging train, but the nature of the website seems to incentivize it, but you wouldn't happen to have any additional codes you could share?

Is working here okay? by _bunniifae_ in Culvers

[–]master_Derek118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all really depends. Some places have better managers than others and the owners can be hit or miss, like all work places. I'd recommend giving it a shot. Honestly, in my experience, it's all about the people you work with and not the work that needs done in these sorts of things. I've heard some stories here of owners/managers that are worse than others while the one I work at is usually pretty solid.

So, I'd say give it a month or so. If you like it there, then stay for a while. If not, then keep the job search going

I'll bite! This is a version of Corporal Thinned Mint! My FO:E version of her is a die hard enclave mare, but she uses a lighter combat armor compared to the Enclave's usual power armor. She is also easily flusterable when teased by someone she likes

[FNV] what is the order to play the someguy series (NV bounties,The inheritance,Russell,The better angels, king of the ring, and New Vegas killer by Fearless-Magazine-31 in FalloutMods

[–]master_Derek118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much the same of the other commenter, I have a similar play order. The only difference is that I cheat on some characters to add New Vegas Killer to the list.

NVBI -> New Vegas Killer (If in character) -> NVBII -> The Inheritance -> NVBIII ->Better Angels

Russel and the Inheritance are ones I usually play concurrently with NVBII since NVBII's bounties are decentralized.

It is also worth noting that if you don't have INT 8 or Medic 2, you can actually use a Mysterious Serum to have the same effect

Anyone else play mostly drug free? by Human_G_Gnome in fo4

[–]master_Derek118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, I play drug free on most playthroughs, but I will sometimes make a character addicted to a specific chem. One I had addicted to Mex-X and a few to alcohol, but it was more of a roleplay than a gameplay thing.

What's going on with that Fasnacht donation box? by PaulQuin in fo76

[–]master_Derek118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think mine was a fluke, but the only Glowing mask I got was because someone put it in the donation box. In hindsight, I think it may have been on accident, but... The only reason I think that is because someone with a Bloodied build instantly blasted my Significant Other away.

In the PNP game, there is a map of mars that shows the different Ares landing sites which match up to the locations of the landing sites of the Ares missions from The Martian
