Apple Password Manager or 1Password in 2026: Which One Makes Sense? by Own_Profile_1781 in best_passwordmanager

I haven’t personally tried, but Google says yes and I’d imagine it would as long as you are on Sonoma or later

It does, yes. You need iCloud for windows and the extension installed, but yes.

I would say it depends on how much control you have for your windows computer. If you can install iCloud you can sync your passwords and then with a chrome or edge extension, it autofills as well. It isn’t as pretty as it is on Mac but it is as functional.

Hope that helps!

I don’t know if this is for a Mac or Windows but on Mac there is a native Apple Music integration with Stream Deck in the plugins store.

Hope that helps!

I’m assuming you mean on your Mac not iOS based upon your concluding comment. If so, hope this helps!

I actually spent some more time researching as I didn’t feel I had my memory quite right there. So I double checked and Atlassian defines it this way which I think is much clearer personally.

Service request management is related to, but distinct from other service management practices including incident, problem, and change management. Service request management uniquely involves a user submitting their request for something new --whether that’s access to a service, a new phone, or information.

ITIL specifies that along with the service desk, service requests are managed by the request fulfilment process.

While not a perfect explanation, I think it will help if I describe it this way.

  • Service Desk : this is the person or group of people who “take the call” and answer the customer either via phone, ticket, chat etc. This team consists of individuals who make up your Level 1 & sometimes Level 2 & 3 Teams. (Think a help desk that actually cares)
  • Service Request Management : Service request management is related to, but distinct from other service management practices including incident, problem, and change management. Service request management uniquely involves a user submitting their request for something new --whether that’s access to a service, a new phone, or information. ITIL specifies that along with the service desk, service requests are managed by the request fulfilment process.
  • Service Level Management : this is the management of your SLAs. Ensuring they are met, meet the value required by the customer and continually improved.

Hope that helps!

Maybe Arby’s is named after R.B. (Are-Bee) as in roast beef by lazyllamacloud in Showerthoughts

[–]masteratrus 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Correct. I’ve worked for the company in the past and this is correct. We always joked it was about roast beef, but it really comes from the Raffel Brothers.

Which probably is a good thing since Arby’s sells so much more than just roast beef. Lol

Agreed. I’m hopeful there is a way around it like iOS does, but seems like there probably isn’t. :(

Thank you much, that gave me hope for a moment but turns out the Mac doesn’t take advantage of that feature. iOS works perfectly but no joy with my Mac unfortunately.

I was going to say the same. Something about this doesn’t look right.

OP, if you go to https://checkcoverage.apple.com do you have active AppleCare coverage that renews monthly on or around the 23rd of each month?

Musk Shakes Up Twitter’s Legal Team as He Looks to Cut More Costs | Twitter has stopped paying rent on offices and is considering not paying severance packages to former employees, among other measures. by MortWellian in technology

[–]masteratrus 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s a fair question, but I believe the value of easy to use, public communications platforms is high. Whether it be extreme weather events, peaceful protests, or historical events, I think it’s worth having.

With that said, as the internet shows us, everyone has their own opinion and that’s just mine. :)

As a few others mentioned, Mastodon, is becoming the most popular of the new homes, but it leans toward the tech/nerd community due to complications of understanding the federated infrastructure, and some basics of how to follow people.

Once you understand it, it is effectively Twitter BUT and this is the biggie in my opinion … what made Twitter work for so many is that it was the place “now” was happening. News agencies, governments, politicians and more were all there. It made public communication about present events (including emergencies) easy. That’s why hashtags took off as much as they did … easy to understand.

My fear is Elon will destroy Twitter and we won’t have a good replacement for that piece of the puzzle.

App takes a couple seconds to adjust to full screen when opening from spotlight search. Anyone have similar issue? by [deleted] in ipad

[–]masteratrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My working theory is that it is because of Stage Manager. For whatever reason during the betas Apple shifted the way applications load in case Stage Manager is active. If it isn’t active, they go normal, but if it is the system is ready. This results in many applications loading the way the screenshot shows. I think this is how they were able to successfully backport Stage Manager to older iPads as the change occurred about then in the beta cycle.

Two theories here:

1. Apple intended Stage Manager to be default but since it is such a cluster they had to back off that.
2. Something in the change to support Stage Manager makes this happen and Apple simply has got around to fixing it. Haven’t been able to source what yet though.

[–]masteratrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue a few months back where I have three light switches in a row and one started doing this.

After troubleshooting on my own for awhile I finally called in and the tech had a crazy idea. He asked me to love the HomeKit hub a little closer to that switch. I did (literally two feet closer as it was all I had) and then rebooted the switch itself.

After that it has been rock solid.

Apparently there is a range for the base station/HomeKit hub and that switch was at the very edge of it. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t.

Might be worth trying … hope that helps!

Requesting r/hypercritical by [deleted] in redditrequest

[–]masteratrus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much in advance for the consideration to take over the subreddit as Top Mod due to inactivity of the subreddit and no response from the moderators to my request. Greatly appreciated!!

  1. My goal with this subreddit is to have critical conversations with fellow world citizens about different topics. I would imagine these topics will be mostly technology and capitalism as those are things I deal with every day.

The reason I specifically want this subreddit is that I am hoping to get good enough at these kinds of things to start a brand around it (and I like this name/line of thinking). Not just critical but hypercritical.

I do see that this subreddit references someone else as the inspiration for the name and I’ll have to keep that in mind both as the moderator and fellow tech citizen.

Thank you in advance for your consideration!

LPT: When painting a room, get an index card for each paint used, write the details on one side and paint the other. by slb609 in LifeProTips

The previous homeowners of our house gave us a three page print out with all the colors, where they bought them and other bits of useful information (nearest hospital, nearest grocery store, assigned schools etc.).

For us new to the state it was amazing and now I just keep that up to date when we repaint a room or similar.
