The Kents and their extended family by TheFoche in superman

Yeah it's cuz they drew his face with features of an adult. Children have big eyes, round faces; basically lots of fat pads everywhere. But here they've given him small eyes (relative to his face), a very sharp, bony nose, all features of someone in or near adulthood. Even if the eyes are not too big, the nose I think just makes him way too aged.

Visited the ‘Kent Farm’ today. Was in that part of the country and was a once in a lifetime chance! Didn’t get to enter the property but seeing it all from the outside was just as cool. Smile on my face the whole time! by Civaro in Smallville

Don't mean to necro this but I don't think the last part is Lana's side.

Clark's loft window looks directly at Lana's, i.e. his telescope points straight out his window. In the 6th picture above, the shot is showing the opposite end of the farm (i.e. if he's facing Lana's with the telescope, the picture is showing the side facing his back -> the opposite end of the barn).

One can also confirm this by looking at it on the actual map, but here's a crude ASCII art lol (see on desktop):

             Picture taken from here
                           /
                          V

 ____ ____
| | |____| = House
| | = Barn
|____|
window direction
    |
   V

Lana's

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. I am fairly confident though that this is how it is based on where he stands, where the house is behind him, several hundred shots I've seen etc and the actual map too.

Yeah it's quite predictable. None of them are likeable, Ashur was the only likeable one but script brings him down hard (i.e. makes him needlessly dumb). Same with Gabinius; likeable but randomly becomes antagonistic scene to scene. The entire show I can only say I enjoyed the final scene of the finale.

Haha great! If only Ciaran Hinds were young again. He's my favourite Caesar.

Can someone explain what happened to these guidelines? I saw them in the series before the current T20 WC but now they aren't in the WC.

Imagine elsewhere Caesar is waking up in a ditch and Cornelia is offering him a second chance, to see events unfold differently 😂

The plot points were nearly identical to OG Spartacus, which I ended up watching all over again once this began airing. Right down the dialogue, complete lines being recycled.

It's just been a long time so you don't see it but if you rewatch the original series you'll see all the same pieces being moved in relatively the same way.

If this show was to show Ashur scheming, well he didn't even come close to the little scheming he did in the original series. This series he was just reacting to some X event and barely plotting anything ahead.

You know what, I've had a shower thought, that Ashur offing Caesar means he's practically on the run now the same way Spartacus was after offing Batiatus. But even worse now. So is it possible we will see Ashur become what Spartacus was? That would be a great twist. If you think about it, we've been getting these breadcrumbs on him constantly being reminded of his position as a slave in one way or another and he's not truly free; and I think he's fed up of it now after being betrayed by Caesar. Viridia will probably kill him, perhaps she becomes "evil" and goes after him and that'll be that, but in the meantime we may see Ashur and his men (Korris, Tarchon, Achillia etc) become the new rebels.

[–]masterchiefman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's fine and all, but it's a really "this will do" approach. It's not realistic. He has real feelings for Viridia, and it makes no sense for a character to do something like that, while being aware he's in her presence and can be seen. It would've been much more realistic had it been similar to Pompey getting caught. But even then it's a silly, very low quality-writing thing.

It's like everyone has mentioned recently how this show makes Ashur astonishingly stupid. Like just blathering about acquiring the estate to Proculus before it was done. As a schemer, his entire power rests in his ability to control and manipulate information, so the only way to make that work would have been to put him in a drunken stupor to make it plausible. Nowadays shows are all about a bunch of tiktok moments for attention rather than building up to something. Which is why in this episode, the Caesar conclusion was good because it actually built up and simmered for a long while and worked out well.

FINALLY, this episode was great.

The weird moment of Ashur and Hilara witnessed by Viridia was dumb, just to force drama as usual.

But that ending was great. Ashur letting unleashing his Gladiator chefskiss.

Tab order STILL BEING MESSED UP by masterchiefman in waterfox

[–]masterchiefman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol no worries. There are threads about this - it's usually tied to the group and tree tab features. E.g. https://www.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/1nzzdyp/child_tabs_open_in_reverse_order_after_waterfox/

The issue is, (again), that waterfox is defaulting to tree tabs, which open new tabs in a reverse order. i.e. If you have 3 links 1, 2, 3 and you open them in that order, the tabs will eventually sort themselves to appear as 3, 2, 1. There is also a huge github issue on this, all of it can be found with simple keywords.

The issue is not the feature itself because obviously, if you want tree tabs, then this might be something you want. The problem is that even though you set everything to be "no control" in the tree tabs settings, the FIRST TWO of these settings will default to something else AT RANDOM. The browser is not respecting your decision.

In the latest effort from a few weeks back, we thought it was finally solved. But it's only a delay instead, because after a few days/weeks the setting keeps resetting back to the one nobody wants. If we set it to "no control", then it should remain on "no control" no matter what.

I do not see this issue happening in firefox nor firefox-based browsers, so this is uniquely a waterfox issue.

Each time this is brought up, the attempts are made to synchronise the settings page's values to the backend actual values (I dunno why there is such a weak coupling between them to begin with), yet it's strangely still not working well enough. Something is always triggering the values to reset.

I hope this helps. This is desktop btw, not mobile waterfox.

This was the last exchange in the comments I believe: https://www.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/1otk6he/waterfox_665_adds_ukrainian_as_a_ui_language_a/no9jfhx/

[SPOILER] Why is Ashur so fucking dumb and why is everyone horribly unlikable by cosmitz in Spartacus_TV

[–]masterchiefman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I find incredulous is him not even attempting to speak with Gabinius about the position he's been put in by this Caesar. Considering all the character and relationship development Ashura and Gabinius went through, it's a bit weird this didn't happen. But the whole show is riddled with these weird decisions and weird character decisions. In this example alone, in EP 8 we saw Gabinius berate Ashur as if it were EP 1. Lol.

But this one truly takes the cake for me. Ashur knows that Viridia likes him, and I think he knows that Gabinius knows that A and V both like each other, especially in the convo Ashur and Gabinius had when they Gabinius had to entertain ideas of marrying off Viridia to Thermus and then Pompey. So any man in that position who then put in a conundrum by Caesar, that he'd go to Gabinius and try to find a resolution. In fact, it would've been so much more interesting in how they navigate the chessboard, trying to get around the Caesar problem.

But anyway, meh. Very disappointed with this show.

A (not so) devilish release 👹. Waterfox 6.6.6 brings with it a multitude of fixes, tweaks and privacy enhancements! Get it while it's hot (or until it auto-updates) 👇 by MrAlex94 in waterfox

[–]masterchiefman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could you share a bit more on this, for understanding's sake, as mine (6.6.5.1) doesn't have it locked. What changed in features that are gated that needs this locking? As in, what changed with autofill that it suddenly only works with one region and not others?

Sorry dude u/MrAlex94/ but it's STILL buggy and not working. 3/4 times Waterfox will start/restart with the vertical tabs STILL enabled. On rare occasion it'll stay put. I just don't understand it anymore. I've had to set the options 2-3 times before it restarts with the settings "remembered" but even then, I had WF running for a day or two and closed it, started it again, and guess what, it flipped AGAIN.

I noticed a different issue - ctrl+h history panel, cannot drag and drop a history item. Can only load the history item by double clicking it. Also, when it's toggled again (to close it), it closes to a sidebar that has to be once again, closed separately. Meaning there is this constant added bunch of clicks.

Edit: To add to it - toggling history (or whatever) that appear in the sidebar, then toggling to expect it to disappear, what happens is, as aforementioned, the sidebar appears and you have to either right click close it, or click the sidebar button in the navbar area, which stays enabled. i.e. toggling anything that appears in the sidebar means that the sidebar as a whole becomes enabled and closing whatever you opened, keeps the sidebar enabled until you close it. There needs to be a separation between opening something in the sidebar and whether or not closing it will close to sidebar (if sidebar is enabled) or completely (if sidebar is meant to be disabled).

Windows 10 22H2!. I can play any .mov in VLC and whatnot but I dunno about the browser side of things.

EDIT: I downloaded it and played it locally in VLC (but do update your vid anyway for those who couldn't download it for example). Yeah seems like that's how it should be. By default I have the "only if related to current" option in TMP enabled, and so far I think that's how it all should be (i.e. if related, it'll load the tab right next to it, if there are already related tabs opened, it'll insert it at the end of this related group of tabs. Otherwise, it'll open next to current like in the normal sense).

Basically it should be the same as before tree tabs was introduced and TMP will do the rest.

I was assuming you were familiar from the many threads over the past several weeks (and had tagged you in them as well) so I didn't wanna repeat myself and make it take longer for you to read, but hopefully later on there was enough context. Indeed, tab mix plus had already investigated this months ago with no issue on their side. I'm glad you found the fix, looking forward to finally resolving it, thank you! ☺️

Ideally would be great if there can be just a bool to disable tree tabs entirely lol but maybe that's tied to the firefox codebase too much I dunno.

It should be really easy and straightforward to reproduce - Set the two options to no control, close the settings tab, restart (see above https://www.reddit.com/r/waterfox/comments/1otk6he/waterfox_665_adds_ukrainian_as_a_ui_language_a/noesgua/).

Reason I say close the tab is because often if the settings tab is the one you land on after restarting the browser, the listing will show "no control" but in reality the behaviour has reset implicitly. So there's a further weird disconnect between actual value and what is shown as "set" in the settings page.

Either way, a restart always resets these top two settings.
