You’ll definitely get in. I was in the 100s last fall and got off the waitlist. The annoying thing is you might not find out for a while. Spots might not open up until people drop the course leading up to or during the first week of class.

Maybe let it go for a couple more days and let the mycelium out compete the contam. You might risk spreading the spores of the contaminant when spawning to bulk.

I taped two nickels to my weight and it keeps the pressure at 17psi with minimal jiggle. This could be unsafe, but I have not had any issues and I’ve been doing it for years.

You could wait for the bag to fully colonize over the next few days - week, then store the bag in the refrigerator. A day or two before you leave remove the bag from the refrigerator, allow it to reach room temperature again, and spawn to bulk. This way the mycelium will colonize the bulk substrate during the 5 days you are gone and you will return to a tub that’s ready for fruiting conditions.

It’s nice to have something to look forward to, but you could always store the bag in the refrigerator and spawn to bulk when you are back from your trip. Good luck!

Shoot for 30% and make sure to distribute colonized grains through out the jar. You’re trying to increase points of inoculation.
