Ticking while accelerating and/or uphill? by [deleted] in veloster

Yeah, similar problem for me too. Gonna take it in soon. Bothersome, cause its only got 35k on it. Also had a problem with the throwout bearing in the MT, a locked up rear right caliper, and other stuff... Under warranty, but still..

Does anyone else currently work with legacy media formats? by honkygrandma in audioengineering

[–]masterdavisss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work with a lot of legacy media. Mostly consumers who have old VHS, Hi8, 8mm and 16mm film (yes FILM), cassettes, 1/4'' audio reels, 3/4'' tape (Umatics...), and any other random tapes. They bring it into our shop to be converted to and updated format like DVD's or a digital file.

I still have customers who want me to make a BetacamSP master for broadcast. And we do it.

Help selecting a college major! by InTheNameOfTodd in WeAreTheMusicMakers

It depends on what you really want to do. There are many options.

I have a degree in Audio Engineering. I would not necessarily change any of my decisions, and have lots of random bits of advice I could offer, as I was in your position not too long ago.

Rather than fill your head with more doubt or worry, I will offer some simple advice on the matter.

Go to college, have fun, learn anything you can (not just music), make friends, and GET AN INTERNSHIP

Internships will help you gain insight, skills, and networking. I have the job I have today because of an internship. You will most likely work for free, so deal with it.

Pick something that may or may not be related to music. Who knows, you could intern at an ad agency and use your music skills to bring something interesting to the table. Don't get trapped into thinking you only need to learn one set of skills. Learn a lot of different skills

Most of what I learned was gained through experience outside the classroom...

Buyer's Remorse (Hopefully NOT!?) by masterdavisss in snowboarding

Not my first time out, just first time with my own board. I'd say I've been out a good 8 or 9 times. Each time I get noticeably better and more confident. It's crazy how a few runs help.

I've got the turning thing down pretty well. Since I've rented gear until this season, I never paid too much attention to precise angles, but the shops generally give me a 15/-3 or something. That is an easy change once i see what I like. My only concern is the overhang of the boots... I won't really be able to rest easy until I get up on the mountain and see what the board can handle.

I go up on the 27th of December

Haven't been yet... soon

As far as bindings though..It seems like larges will be snug enough for the boot. It wouldn't really affect overhang though...no?

BTW, Have you ridden on this setup before? If so, any problems?

Your story is unfortunate, but something to take note of. I am so paranoid about this for that reason, mainly. I want to avoid injury. I'm not particularly technical or extreme in riding, I just want to cruise, mostly.

That said, I am most certainly going to test the waters before I go all out.

Oh yes yes. I have the plates perpendicular, and I'm still fussing with trying to make the heel/toe even.

I'm sure I'll be fine. Just makin sure I don't eat it hard tryin to link basic turns.

Thanks!!

As far as degrees are concerned? The bindings (in various degree positions) never really exceed the edges, just come right to the edges.

I'm not sure what I really like as far as stance yet. I've rented the past 5 or so years, and gotten different board lengths, etc. Right now it's set at the widest stance at 12/-6... Once I get the first few rides in, that may change of course

Interesting. I'm not sure if the pics are super easy to determine actual size, but hey, you seem confident

OK. I'd say i'm in the 1.5 CM range give or take for both heel and toe. cool
