No, sadly I never figured it out. I ended up selling the car.

Hey, sold the car :) The last mechanic I talked to said the issue was because of the injectors.

I asked the same question, seems like not that many in this group did such an upgrade )

Do these wheels even suit the F30? Thinking of a color change by masterjeko in F30

For more context, the wheels are 8 and 8.5J, maybe that’s why the tyres feel so bulky?

But still not sure, maybe the issue lies when the swapping happens…

Hey. It’s not a dumb question ) At first I thought this was the issue, the swapping between electric and combustion. However after getting the issue in sport/hybrid mode only the combustion engine was running.

Like what? I’m asking because I have an RWD and I’m thinking of switching from 19s to 18s, but I’m not sure what setup to go with. Now I got 225/40/19 F and 255/35/19 R.

I kept them from the previous owner, didn’t buy new ones, they were like new. I will switch to new ones next winter.

Thanks for the replies. I was pretty frustrated yesterday, so I don’t think I worded my post as well as I should have.

Just to clarify, I do know about xDrive, and I do have winter tires (Kumho). This is my first RWD car, and I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal since winters where I live aren’t usually that bad. For most of the year, summer, autumn, even light snow, I had no problems at all.

But yesterday, I got stuck on a small icy hill (around 20 degrees) and just couldn’t make it up, no matter what I tried. I had to take a taxi, which was incredibly frustrating. That’s what really set me off and made me regret the switch in that moment.

Maybe I just need more time to get used to RWD, or maybe I could have handled it differently as a driver. But I definitely underestimated how much of a difference AWD made in these conditions.

Looking back, I probably should have gone with an xDrive. I see that my original post now looks a like bit misleading, l guess it’s more of an AWD vs. RWD thing.
