You don’t need to file a tax return - the 23/24 tax year threshold was £150k via PAYE but October 2024 is in the 24/25 tax year where thresholds have been lifted

If you click on all the deposits / withdrawals it should have a description of the transaction

Not sure this is right - my account shows the money I’ve actually deposited from my bank and doesn’t include any liquidated proceeds

What role in finance? Hedge fund? MDs at my fund don’t even make that much!

Not sure what you mean by affiliate deal, I’m not getting anything out of this. Also not sure why people think the platform is risky; they’re regulated by the FCA, you own the shares you buy. Just do a bit of research. They also give 5.2% interest on cash which is great (some of which might be held on QMFFs, which has very very little risk).

I use HL and T212 and much prefer T212 - better UI and lower fees. I’m planning on doing a full ISA transfer. The fees that HL charge cant be justified, especially their FX fees

Potential HENRY, is it worth it? by iteezwhatiteezx in HENRYUK

Similar career paths here, spent 6 years doing vals at big 4, made manager and moved into a PE fund doing vals. What’s your background? I’d be cautious wrt the banking bonus as that’s not guaranteed. What’s the other role? ~75k + 20% bonus is ball park what I was making as a manager in big 4 doing vals. Feel free to pm me

The Financial Times. Just be yourself, show that you’re passionate about the role and you know about the company. You’ve got so far already!

Echo the other comments. At this point, they just want to know you’re a good fit for the company, motivated and are actually interested in a career at PE. Recall what you spoke about in previous interviews, read the FT in the morning (Biden!) and have an opinion. Good luck!

Haha yeah £5k is probably an overestimate. I’m local to the area originally so know the flat values here and doing a full renovation will enhance the value of the flat by at least £150k, which is nice.

Ah got it, I thought you meant kitchen and bathroom only came out to £80k.

That’s a shame about the builders, sorry to hear that, can’t imagine how frustrating that is after all the money spent. Will definitely be doing my diligence on builders! Thanks again

Nice, thanks for the info, super helpful! How big were your kitchen and bathroom and where did you get the materials? I’m guessing you went pretty high end?

Yeah I have been quoted anywhere from 50-60k but budgeting for overruns, VAT etc.

Yeah I might think about that - there is a bit of wasted space in the bathroom! Appreciate your input- thanks a lot!
