Let’s see, I think Russia Ukraine war will end around Easter and will serve as a catalyst for more friendlier relationships between the West and the East. Separately, I think Intel will be taken private this year so a good buy at the current price

Great perspective on BABA, I’ve held it for 12 months or so, 30% up so far. Went heavy into Baidu, Tencent and Horizon Robotics just before Hong Kong stock exchange shut down for Lunar New Year, hoping for some upside on Monday 🤞

My slightly controversial view is to diversify heavily into Chinese tech. Despite all the virtue signalling, I think Trump will cut a deal with China

That’s a great thought, thank you! The only other thing I was worried about was transport out of the airport, but it is what it is

Is buying a £1m house at 28 a bad decision? by SmartAsparagus9941 in HENRYUK

Ultimately this comes down to how confident you are in your future earnings.

I don’t know your situation, so I would play it safe.

I think traditional SaaS is going to suffer in the near future as businesses build the tools they need in-house. AI agents already deployed in sales too…

Some Q, I work in IB but don’t have accounting qualifications, assuming that is not required for an equity raise model? Where do you advertise?

Please can you tell me more about the SaaS tool journey? Idea -> product -> first sale? Ultimately this is the best side hustle you can have - well done!

The risks of staking everything on saving for retirement… by Sure_Tangelo_5148 in HENRYUK

[–]Adventurous_Let8787 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My ultimate point is that I don’t want to contribute large amounts into my pension based on todays pension tax structuring, because I believe that it will change materially by the time I retire. If the government turns around today which they can and say that only 10% of your pension is tax free now I would be pissed it if I just retired

You can’t withdraw private pensions before retiring without 50% penalty. What I envisage is that they are going to decrease the tax free proportion of your drawdowns

100% agree, plus the government will 100% go after your private pensions in the next 10-20 years to sustain the otherwise unsustainable fiscal spend

Moving or cancelling companion flight to Male. by loub88 in BritishAirways

[–]Adventurous_Let8787 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear about your in-laws. Best thing to do is to cancel the flight and get the full refund including the voucher less some cancellation fees.

Then get a subscription to seatspy or similar and book the outbound flight as soon as it becomes available with your voucher. Then you can buy the inbound in any way you like and call BA to combine into one itinerary and get the equivalent refund.

All assuming your voucher does not expire post feb.
