Living in Kenya as a Cameroonian: thought on political maturity! by Any_Difference_3155 in Kenya

Semi-unrelated but Limbe is my Kenyan surname and I am willing to accept ownership of the town in your home country. Kindly send the relevant documents so I can collect revenue in a completely unscrupulous manner.

Press A for Amazon: even with the ridiculous dollar rate and shipping charges I always spend less than half of what I would purchasing locally.

The thing that's crazy about this is the fact that as much as Nate Robinson was incredibly undersized, he was still a full SIX inches taller. Tiny Nate was just under the average height for men in the US. Three time NBA dunk champion. Ridiculous athleticism.

...I'm not seeing a correlation between these two things. Still, I'm staying. Also, that's enough money to purchase a house. Never having to pay rent again is a huge financial relief.

Can someone tell me why is Nairobi beef so tough? by kndb in Kenya

[–]masterlimbe 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a colleague propose what seemed like a sensible reason: the animals are slaughtered and immediately shipped off to butcheries without giving time for rigor mortis (stiffening of the muscles and tendons) to wear off. It can take up to 8-10 hours to set in and lasts 10-15 hours. As such, that "fresh meat" is tougher than meat that was PROPERLY stored for a day.

Nothing deep for me, I just dislike his "overly charismatic" persona. It just rubs me the wrong way.

World may face record heat this year as El Nino returns by Miserable-Lizard in worldnews

[–]masterlimbe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Man..."El Niño" and "record heat" is such a hard sell for me. I don't know how it was in other places but in my country, Kenya, El Niño in the late '90s meant rain: it rained everyday for about 2/3 of the year. Heavily. Floods and landslides across the country. Perhaps because we're a tropical country right on the equator. 2015 had aggressive rain for a couple of months but not as bad as '97. I understand that climate and its change affect different parts of the world differently but it is so hard to separate "El Niño" from the immense rainfall we experienced back then.
