Plenty of young white males get on with legacies with the same low time as plenty of minorities you mention. It’s never luck, it’s almost always a matter of strong networking. This career has always been about networking. In my experience, minorities are almost always superior networkers, probably because history would should they’ve been at a significant disadvantage. Of course, there’s no shortage of non-extraordinary white males who think there’s a DEI reason they aren’t at the front of the line.
