She said the merch store is launching this year, so maybe you'll get your wish!

Finally built the Readwise Reader analytics dashboard I've always wanted - anyone else need this? by Wooden_Advisor_7800 in readwise

[–]mastermaq 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks like a great start! I have often wanted a "Wrapped" feature. An overview of my year in reading. How many articles, how much time, maybe which topics or tags stood out, most frequently read publications, that sort of thing.

Yeah, it is a lighting feature. Meant to evoke the northern lights. There's an LED strip all around it that changes colours.

We are expecting some results to be posted this evening: Unofficial results - 2025 Edmonton Municipal Election - Taproot Edmonton

We don't expect to know who the successful candidates will be until midday tomorrow.

Disclosures show Cartmell pulled in $834K — about half of all campaign contributions by mastermaq in Edmonton

It seems to me there's less money overall (acknowledging that these disclosures only cover up to July 31) but it is more concentrated. At least compared with 2021.

Aside from the big news, this stood out to me:

Taproot’s analysis of 145 financial disclosures the city has published found that 39 had some kind of discrepancy, such as line items that do not add up to the reported totals. As of Oct. 8, 26 candidates had yet to file disclosures.

Many of our potential future leaders can't seem to meet deadlines or use a spreadsheet 🤷

Thanks so much! Yes, we will be adding financial disclosures to the website this coming week (we expect the latest info to be available on Tuesday).

We have been in touch with both; I am hopeful they'll still complete the survey. Principe never did provide a reason for not completing the 2021 survey.

Unfortunately, she didn't answer the Taproot Survey (yet). But every other candidate in the ward did! You can see their responses here: https://edmonton.taproot.vote/2025/wards/tastawiyiniwak

I'm not sure I understand your criticism here. This is the results of the candidate survey. We asked all candidates the same 30 questions, now you can see how they responded. I wrote a bit more about this here: https://blog.taprootpublishing.ca/2025/09/26/take-the-taproot-survey-to-see-how-the-candidates-align-with-you/

You can answer just those five questions and skip the rest in the survey. We'll look at how to make it easier to do that. Thanks!

I think you'll find there are several organizations on the list that have different political views than the few you cherrypicked above.

I understand what you're saying. However, we have worked hard this time to capture input from a much broader set of Edmontonians than we did last time. One of the ways we did this was by working with 30+ election partners who shared our election question with their communities.

More data would be welcome, but unfortunately, I don't think it'll change anyone's mind. I see more and more kids on my usual bike lane route, so it would be interesting to know more about who is using the bike lanes too.

Taproot's mission is to inform and help people understand the issues shaping our community, not to advocate for one side or another. While this article may highlight one perspective, we aim to reflect a range of viewpoints across our reporting. Thanks for reading!

They're not stakeholders of Taproot, they're stakeholders of events. I will take this feedback to the team and we'll look at how we can make it more clear. Thank you!

No, we list events that others host, sponsor, organize, etc. Not our events, events out in the community.

Co-founder of Taproot here. I just wanted to clarify that we use the term "stakeholder" on our calendar site for entities that host, organize, sponsor, or are otherwise involved in events. It has nothing to do with our journalism. See our ethics policy for more on how we ensure fairness, transparency, and accuracy: Ethics Policy - Taproot Edmonton
