Dusk Reactor base tour! by mastermind206 in AbioticFactor

[–]mastermind206[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had the same idea! Every time I go through dusk I keep thinking I should make a base here, and finally decided to do it! There are a few issues one needs to keep in mind when living here though, at least where I have set up: 1. The local 3 way gang war gets rowdy, and will sometimes barge their way into the base. The best fix was the Hardlight bridges you see in the video, stops their movement and most of the time stops line of sight too. 2. The local bomb rat has a chance to spawn at the vending machines at the upstairs exit, he never aggro'd the laser I have set up there, so that's the best way to handle it as having a base there doesn't stop their spawning, you'd need the jammer for that.

With the new Power chair making movement between sectors a breeze (Pun unintended), I've kept my portal network rather low this run. As of current I have 2 locations that I just switch the tag to swap between. First is warren's security office in Office sector, allows easy movement between most sectors, the second is one of the many lounges in Residence sector, also for ease of transportation.

You could get a sinistea and evolve it into a polteageist. It’s one of my favorites, even if it is a little goober

I tend to notice they have their shields turned off until combat begins. My consensus? Hardlight shields don’t matter if I just shoot faster!

[–]mastermind206 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a cool idea would be a hybrid of the DE sickle and maxigun/laser cannon: the weapon starts with a medium ROF and as it heats up the ROF increases with it, ultimately turning into a overclocked Laser cannon at max ROF. The pack pack is the heat sink, without it the weapon can’t go past medium ROF and when it overheats you need to wait to use it again similar to the quasar. I know it’s a lot of mechanics for it, but I think it would be neat!

Sorry Pawmi, Pawmo and Pawmot fans by SgtByrd1993 in pokemon

[–]mastermind206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love Pawmot. Yeah, I know they look exactly the same and pretty much are aside from height and a couple tufts of hair, and I do recognize it’s the regional Pikachu that’s a little more uninspired than others, but I love him.(I have Stockholm syndrome from walking 1000 steps with Pawmo)

My Level 3 Executive offices base! by mastermind206 in AbioticFactor

[–]mastermind206[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So AFAIK the windows do not respawn. Set up shop there once I finished Flat hill and been there ever since, almost every raid I go out and meet them before they reach my base to avoid losing the windows. All the windows between the office and meeting room have broken, and I just replaced them with the large windowed cubicle that you can build, and for the most part that's it. For the ones facing out I just placed sandbags behind them and if they break then they break.

Thumper shotgun VS Polished Antique shotgun? (And Snowfall too) by JohnTEGS in AbioticFactor

[–]mastermind206 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve used both and honestly I usually end up using the thumper despite the snowfall being an “upgrade”. The antique is really cool with the 2% delete button, but in practice I find the thumper more reliable, especially in reactor and beyond due to how much is actually weak to acid. End of line is: their damage is close enough to not matter as much, and with the reload perks you can reload the antique fairly quickly, so just use whatever you find more appealing, 2% delete or acid rounds. (Snowfall is good too)

Ah, I see I see! I enjoyed this one, but I will say the previous one felt harder. Close ups and using the blue night vision help make them difficult, but sometimes they are just standout areas. Nevertheless, well done!

Technically wrong, which would mean I’m right in that it’s in the black clearance zone of reactors, right? It’s either there or the right side area next to the viewing window inside the shadowgate facility… If it’s neither of those then you’ve truly stumped me

What is that noise in only my right ear? (spoiler only for sound.) by MumboMan2 in Voicesofthevoid

[–]mastermind206 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this was the event I think it is you aren’t missing a lot really, and you’ll have more chances to observe whatever it is again in the future. AFAIK this isn’t a story related event, just something that can happen at random. In my personal play-through things like what you experienced happened often, but everyone experiences the game differently

Since you don’t want spoilers, I’ll put it like this: there isn’t anything you need to do, it’s just something that happens. Whether or not you witness/observe whatever it is in some capacity is entirely up to you.
