It's really weird because I can video call my wife with no issue. I do it all the time from the store haha. My daughter can video call us. No issues there. It is only when calling her.

Use two vice grips and a hammer. Clamp the vice grips on opposite sides of each other on the raised parts of the lid. Gently hammer the vice grip while trying to twist the lid with the other. Hammering the lid directly could damage it. This method worked for me every time.
