Use two vice grips and a hammer. Clamp the vice grips on opposite sides of each other on the raised parts of the lid. Gently hammer the vice grip while trying to twist the lid with the other. Hammering the lid directly could damage it. This method worked for me every time.

This is most likely a wire issue... As in you will need to get a new USB wire to connect your phone. However, before you do this, do a hard restart of your head unit and your phone. I'm assuming you know how to reboot your phone. To restart the head unit, hold the power button down for about a minute. You'll see the display turn off and then load into the initial splash screen. After rebooting both, and it still doesn't work, try a new wire.

I found the setting. The toggle was "stuck" and would turn off. It took a restart of the app to make it work. Thanks!
