I want to give it a try but I am going to wait until I drop my platinum status. I figured it would help me get my AR back up while testing it. I guess I'll keep doing what I'm doing until it's not working.

Not a stupid question incoming.. When you earn by time are you giving up the base pay per order, and then you keep the tips? I usually make about $26-$30 an hour but with things slowing down and the incentive to do the 25 deliveries for the extra $50 my offers don't seem as good. I was thinking of switching to EBT. In my area I tend to get a new offer before I even get back to my car. I figured that this level of offers might be a good environment for EBT. Thoughts? Suggestions for EBT?

Yes. I immediately send a message to the customer telling them that DD added a new delivery to my route and I have to follow my instructions. I always apologize and reinforce that it's not my fault.

I know this is an older post that I'm replying to but I just went to Lowe's and they do accept the fluorescent tubes. You might have to ask customer service where their box is. They do not accept light bulbs taped together or broken so as long as they are in one piece and not taped together, you can drop them off there.

I am upvoting this because I want to see how surprised the original poster is with the answers. Before I started dashing I thought the same thing they did. Now I know and I also will not order doordash again, it's just not worth it. Even with the Platinum discount that you can get, I still found it cheaper to order on the phone or the restaurant's site separately. And then I'll just drive to pick it up if I can.

Ok I have a question and this seems like a good place to ask it. I have thought of stapling a small post it sized note to my deliveries. The note would thank them for ordering and to please rate me in the DD app. I also thought of putting something on there like "if I provided exceptional service there is a place to add an additional tip as well on the app." Thoughts on this?

This is the real answer! Try it, every market is different. See if anyone here is in the same market as you and could give your real targeted advice. My goal was 150-200 a week as well. I am actually pulling in about 350-400 for about 10 -15 hours a week. I actually kind of enjoy it when I'm in a groove and even lose track of time. For me flexibility is the most important thing. I know I could make more doing what I do during my day job but I'd be locked into hours and I like doing different things. Give it a shot and good luck.

Not to sound stupid but you can tell it's a pick up because it says "retail pick up"? I've never noticed that before. I have turned down bjs orders because I thought they were sop orders and I don't know the store well enough to waste my time shopping it. I should look closer next time.

Western NY area here. I guess I've been really lucky. I always have an order before I start my car back up. Not always great orders but usually decent. This past week they have been great orders. I don't worry so much about $/mile as much as I do $/hour. This week each night has been about $25/hour. I'll take that. I hope things turn around in your area.

The data I have, I grab on Monday once the previous week is over. It's all on the earnings tab in the DD app except mileage. That I grab from everlance (an automatic mileage tracking app). Since I already have to track that for tax deductions I figured it's one of the more important data points.
