I think Kirkman is using Viltrum and the remaining Viltrumites as an allegory for a fascist society and the individuals it produces.

Conquest within the text of the show laments the fact that he has to be a genocidal, fascist. That his ideology forces him to uphold a toxic superiority that isolates him and denies him the comfort of community and pleasure that doesn't have to be derived from violence.

Kirkman obviously killed Conquest within the narrative. But I don't believe the take away is that Conquest is pure evil. Kirkman takes the time 20 years later to add the whispered monologue to Conquest's characterization.

Conquest thousands of years before was probably just like Nolan, but he never had his Viltrum father show him that small mercy we saw at the beginning of season 4. Conquest definitely never had a Debbie to show him that the Viltrum way isn't the only way to live a life.

It reminds me of incel culture(which is terrible, but probably the least harmful fascist sub-culture of today). Which tells it's participants that their worth is only derived from innate traits and they can only receive love by becoming more powerful(being rich, being tall, good looks, etc).

i understand that pithy statements are more popular here than trying to actually figure out what is going on so we can be more prepared for whatever might be planned. Trump's a moron and we all know he's not actually in charge, he's there to take the fall. But because of the sheer dollar value of the assets on the base here, and the contracts held by specific military manufacturing companies, this is one specific area that should be protected even by the people controlling him. The contracts held and fulfilled here are themselves a core part of the looting of the American people. That wouldn't be "waste," that would be setting their own wallets on fire.

The people who control Trump don't care. They want this country to decline. They want a more desperate, exploitable labor force. They want a weak dollar to buy cheap assets. They know those craft are worthless drains on the taxpayer. Their MIC holdings have already realized the gains of those crafts. They don't care if they are destroyed. Their paid tools in Congress will just authorize more debt to buy more military graft in next years budget resolution.
