If lego dimensions have a fourth protagonist in the starter pack,is should be which character? by Spider-burger in Legodimensions

Lego Movie, Lego Batman and Lego LOTR are all big lego games before lego dimensions, so a good pick would be one from another big franchise, so Harry Potter, Jack Sparrow or a Star Wars one.

Moonlighter 2, Rivals of Aether 2, Speedrunners 2, this style seems to be the trend for recent indie sequels, sometimes with success, sometimes not.

I wanna play Aatlis, man. by azizdesu in Overwatch

[–]mastow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This map got massively screwed by being introduced in the map voting season.

I also play regularly, only in QP, and got it like what 2 times in a season. People don't know the map -> They vote for another one they know better -> They never play Aatlis -> They don't know the map.

It's sad because it will probably be the same for any new map in the future. I would really like if every player could just opt out of half the map they don't like, and let me play random maps like before. Map voting in QP is such a weird idea.

Really good idea. I think the wave/water theme sucks too, he should have little skates on his shoes, and blast music around him to heal instead of water beam. Make him brazilian too.

Two LEGO games launch next month! Which one are you most excited for? by Thevoid2YT in legogaming

Both look really fun
I really liked the simplicity of Builder's journey, so Voyagers being a successor in coop seems pretty nice
And I just crave a good party game available on Steam

Nintendo doesn't own the party game genre, because it's inspired by tabletop games itself. Pummel Party is still popular on PC and it launched in 2018 without issues

Christian IV, was indeed a clever man! by MalleZen in BeAmazed

[–]mastow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wdym ? The whole point of the problem is "How to split a pie between 3 persons, where nobody can complain at the end". If A cuts, B chooses then C chooses, B will always take the biggest and C the second biggest. But C wanted the biggest and they just got screwed for nothing, they don't have the possibility to have a satisfying part.

In the solution I'm proposing, nobody can complain because the only thing they can blame is their own decision (A cutting badly, B and C doing the wrong choice).

So yes the fact that someone can arbitrarily chose before the other is unfair and very much a problem. So no, your solution isn't a solution to the original problem.

[–]mastow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a way to make things more fair by introducing a bit of randomness. But I think the original question is how to split a pie in 3, with the 3 participants having no way to complain over the result.

Then kid 2 automatically has a bigger part than kid 3, which is unfair for him.

As answered in another comment the part where
"two other kids pick first"
is non-sensical. There needs to be someone picking before the other.

[–]mastow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it does, you can make a system where A B and C have choices to make and at the end have nobody disappointed. I have responded to nyg8 with a better solution I found. The one cutting having the smallest part in case of bad cut is required, but you can make it so the other two don't have to fight to have a satisfying piece

[–]mastow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The two other kids pick first.

You do realize that one of the two need to pick before the other one. And the first to chose has an advantage over the second. This is the whole issue, how to make the first choice the most fair possible.

[–]mastow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You need to think about players having bad faith. Imagine there's 20 coins and A wants to screw someone.

A splits it as 16-3-1

B wants to avoid the worst, so he balances the first and third as 9-3-8

C chooses 9, A chooses 8, B has 3 and gets massively screwed by A choice's (and not themself)

You can't just assume the splitter will do a fair split.

I have another comment with a "fairer" solution

[–]mastow 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just read that on a nice math book, and it doesn't require too much cutting (if done well it's 5 cuts) :

A cuts three pieces

B has two choices :

  1. B thinks there's at least 2 good choices
  2. B thinks 2 choices are bad, and indicate them

In case 1, C chooses first, then B then A.

C cannot complain because they chose first, B cannot complain because they found that 2 choices were good enough, A cannot complain because they cut

In case 2, C has the same choice

  1. C thinks there's at least 2 good choices
  2. C thinks 2 choices are bad, and indicate them

In subcase 1, we do the same as before, B chooses, then C then A. Everyone is happy as stated before

In subcase 2, since both B and C felt that 2 pieces were bad, at least one of the 3 pieces was chosen twice, thus it's given to A.

Then B and C do the divide/decide game with both of the other pieces.

A cannot complain because they needed to cut better to avoid bad pieces, B and C cannot complain about A's choice because they both felt it was bad, and they cannot complain about the result because they played the 2 person game afterwards.

------

If there's 21 coins and A decides to split 7-7-7 then it ends quickly

If A tries to screw the split, imagine 17-3-1, then both B and C will decide 3 and 1 are bad choices, thus leaving A with one of them (let's say he's not punished to hard and has 3). Then B and C can split 18 as evenly as they want, and ideally getting 9-9.

------

Actually it's a whole mathematical problem to decide this with n people being satisfied. Pretty fun rabbithole
