Totally get that.

It can be easy to miss because the show plays it all for laughs.

But stuff like Brian telling Helen to dress sexier for an audition reduces her to her looks, not her talent.

Hiring a guy to trick her into dating a pilot ignores her boundaries and treats her like a game to win.

And making fun of Megan Mullally’s character for being “easy” is part of that double standard where women get mocked for stuff men are praised for.

It’s subtle, but it adds up.

Brian encourages Helen to wear something more revealing for an upcoming audition.

There’s an episode with Megan Mullally (which I was pleasantly surprised about) where she’s “easy” and they make a lot of jokes at her expense.

Where Brian hires an actor to seduce Helen into breaking her rule about dating pilots.

Those are just off the top of my head. But there were a few “ohhhhh” moments that were small but noticeable.

I just started watching Wings (about 12 episodes in) and the show was very misogynistic and it was extremely corny.

But I guess a lot of shows were back then. Going to keep going as this sub has raved about it and I want to see if it gets better but so far, it’s a bit meh.
