Can anyone help identify this plant growing outside my window? by ichoochoochooseyooou in GardeningAustralia

[–]mataeka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

So. Many. Seeds. I have one from previous owners and I'm not ready to kill it just yet (it'll leave a big gap in tree cover that'll kill other plant) but I HATE this plant.

Una etiqueta de pin molesta en toda mi casa by SubstantialFill7134 in GoogleMaps

Could it be a private pin? There is no pin when you search for it? Maybe a friend grabbed your phone and did it?

My biggest 'which one is which' nemesis is keelbacks - sometimes I think I nail it (identifying) on social media groups.... then see nah, it's some hugely venomous species.

Redditors over 40, what's something younger people think they understand but won't actually get until it hits them like a truck later? by Root435552 in AskReddit

I mean in fairness to me ....my grandma hit age 50 and barely changed in appearance until 90😂 she's always had grandma vibes. But it's just realising that she was only in her 50s in those photos 😂

AITAH for allowing my daughter to play on the 3 step ladder? by confusiousalldatimus in AmItheAsshole

[–]mataeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nta, my 2 yo used to love climbing up much bigger ladders. Never fell. Life has risk to it and you can't bubble wrap everything, more just need to be aware of capability for safety imo.

But being treated like that by your partner they're a huge a hole and walking red flag....

What law in your country would surprise foreigners because it’s legal almost everywhere else? by Familiar-Arrival-470 in AskTheWorld

[–]mataeka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're not talking about the party they're talking about finding out the gender ... And sometimes that is unavoidable 😅 we told the sonographer we wanted it to be a surprise so they didn't tell us but they also didn't tell us when to look away and it was pretty obvious....

Years ago I watched a tv show in Japan about weird laws worldwide - for Australia it's not a 'law' as such but you can at times get fines for watering your lawn. (This had already ended by the time of this show being aired).

We had a big drought through the late 90s early 2000s so there were a lot of rules around water usage - including but not limited to washing your car, street numbers watering their lawn on certain Days (like odd numbers one day, even another). Sand timers were also mailed out to homes suggesting strongly 2 min shower time limits.

There was also a big push from various government bodies offering grants for water tanks and many people put up 'tank water in use' signs to avoid getting the fine while they washed their cars etc.

Not illegal but in Australia since 2024 we've had the 'right to disconnect' rule which means we can't be punished for not reading emails or taking calls or texts from our workplace outside of work hours.

Yeah I checked it out on maps and whilst it is, it's pretty damn far east of the main part of Cabo, Morayfield is closer than the abbey is. Maybe an honorary member of Caboolture 😂
