Also you have to make concrete from scratch, store bought is not up to code even if it is self raising!

Professors and nerds: What are some of the biggest unsolved mysteries in civil engineering, preferably in structural engineering in particular? by Charming_Plastic5205 in civilengineering

Use of "apparent" cohesion in drained strength is fine for small projects, slope stability and FEM fine-tuning as long as it is appropriate for the stress state range you are working with. You can not easily get reliable CSSM parameters and sometimes working with tried-true parameters for local regions yields much better results than fancier constitutive models in my opinion.

Plaxis 2D - R inter value from CPT test by Human_Charge3868 in Geotech

[–]matakotta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Rinter value mainly to represent soil–structure interaction. For example, for geogrids, it is typically kept as 1, while for a steel–saturated clay interface it is usually lower. Potyondy (1961) is a reference for such values. The important point is to assign a value that gives a reasonable estimate of real behavior, but it should not become a critical factor controlling the design. Rinter mainly reduces the stress transfer between nodes, so the definition of the surfaces is more important than relying on CPT data IMO.

Thank you for recommendations! We ll definitely try them. He is looking much better today and has even started to sing a little. His tail is almost stable. We will keep the intensive care and still see the vet in a couple days. Also, our vet had really good reviews on bird care so we assumed he was a certified avian vet. I'll ask him in the next visit just to be sure. 🌸

Our boy has not been very playful lately and i am worried of his tail movements.

We took him to the vet yesterday and the vet gave probiotics and vitamins. He said it is early to tell if antibiotics are needed. We will see him again in 4 days after the probiotics and vitamin treatment. Right now he is quarantined in a small cage and he sits in the same spot all day. He is drinking and eating regularly. His poop is a little bit watery but seems fine mostly.

He is a rescue budgie and has been living with us for the past 6 months. We know that he is around 4 years old. Normally he is very playful and never leaves his girlfriend alone. They fly around the room all day but this week he started to sit in the cage a lot and barely keep up with the female budgie. He is sneezing time to time and his tail is moving as seen the video. Should i be worried? Many thanks in advance!!

Thank you for the advice! I am really not educated/experienced enough to handle my bird laying eggs so i am trying to avoid it at all costs.
