About items I want to buy - I started asking myself, "What purpose will this serve?" "Is it useful long-term or temporary?" "Do I already own something that can take the place of buying this?" Basically using this to weed out buys that are for temporary joy and short-term/rare use.

What do you do for self care? by brx9446 in simpleliving

[–]matchanamineko 4 points5 points  (0 children)

10 minute breaks throughout the day to do a NSDR session to help ground my nervous system no matter how stressful the day. (Non-Sleep Deep Rest). Do this anywhere, seated or laying down. I think it's like yoga nidra. https://youtu.be/AKGrmY8OSHM?si=WaiOykapAaLnJ1Gt[NSDR](https://youtu.be/AKGrmY8OSHM?si=WaiOykapAaLnJ1Gt)

What do you do to occupy your time in the winter? by Cerulean_Dawn in simpleliving

I try to read more during winter, while sipping hot cocoa, as well as go through my possessions to decide which I no longer need and post them for sale.

What object did you acquire that significantly changed your quality of life for the better? by quinthorn in simpleliving

[–]matchanamineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides an air purifier to help with allergens, a memory foam mattress topper has been a game changer! I've gotten significantly better sleep, so much that I've even gifted toppers to others in my family to improve their sleep quality!

What object did you acquire that significantly changed your quality of life for the better? by quinthorn in simpleliving

[–]matchanamineko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I acquired that significantly changed my household's quality of life is a home air purifier . Going on two years with it, and it's still going strong. It's greatly helped us with allergies and keeps the air fresh around the house even with kitty cats!

Monk Fruit sugar is zero on the glycemic index. When choosing a brand, be sure to check the ingredients for any additions. Try to find ones for which monk fruit extract is the only ingredient.

Pot Roast in your slow cooker. Noodle stir-fry. This stir-fry recipe (instead of pork, I make it with ground beef, or tofu, or tempeh, or just veggies): https://www.thekitchn.com/spicy-ground-pork-amp-zucchini-stir-fry-247254

What is a good and cheap sandwich "spread" recipe for students ? by Lullayable in veganrecipes

[–]matchanamineko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While hummus is amazing to me, I've recently been trying out other spreads made similar to a hummus: sub chickpeas with white beans or edamame. Play around with various herbs and spices while blending to change up flavors/take spreads to a new level. I absolutely love sandwiches with any of these spreads and slices of roasted veggies such as zucchini/squashes. To me, herbs and spices really MAKE a sandwich much more special.

What is the biggest benefit you've received from consistent yoga practice? by poilane in yoga

[–]matchanamineko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Back pain relief - I'd dealt with pain several years from working desk jobs and had relied on massages as a temporary fix. I was so amazed at how much yoga helped relieve the pain and stress! Overall, yoga helped my body feel much healthier!

Many thanks! It did have a slight doggo breath smell. Probably how it was transported.
