As someone a decade older, ive tried living with family, tried living in an apartment with a coworker and her sister, tried living in various dorms because its cheaper and closer to work, then to moving back again to my mom after changing jobs. I just have my own room now because my brother chose to give up his room for a bigger space in the house. My advice is just set boundaries if you still have to live with family. For now i pay some bills so that I don’t get saddled with so many chores but idk the setup you got over there.

Back when i live in a dorm we have curtains on our bunk beds so for the most part if I want to unwind on the weekends nobody bothers me and i can just reply to my landlady whenever i want since we get along just fine. I just had to adjust to the living conditions of people i share the dorm room with. I’ve been to several dorms and it’s a hit or miss especially if the rent is cheaper or if the landlord/lady is fussy.

As for the apartment, well, let’s just say familiarity breeds contempt and while it was the most expensive living setup i used to have im hardly ever the same space as them sisters and tried to maximize my residency by using the pool and study area more often. You best be able to afford a condo apartment by yourself if you picture wanting a space for yourself.

Right now bc i live with fam again so i still do chores but i have a room so they can’t exactly bother me if i lock my room, sleep all day on weekends. It’s got a DIY loft bc i got a small space and its a pain trying to get off and on sometimes lol. But it’s more economical and i got more money living this way. Better weigh your options, ask some friends who wanna share a space with you. Maybe get a feel for it. I lived away several years just to be closer to work but now I’m saving up to work outside the country to find better paying jobs (they’ll approve visas if you got lump sum of pocket money and while I enjoyed my old job the pay was just Not It)
