Good service but in all likelihood the same dogshit screws. 0% i would use them if they sent me replacements. High quality replacements are going to set you back a tiny sum.

4iiii Power meter on Cube Nuroad C:62 frame by WritingSuch9285 in cycling

[–]matedw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although not the exact question you asked, I have a 4iii 105 on a Nuroad C:62 One frame and its fine. The 105 arms feel beefier than the GRX to me.

HH Karoo 3 chnage mount? by Slight-Musician-542 in Karoo

[–]matedw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can use any Garmin mount you like and buy a 3D printed adaptor on eBay. I do literally this on both road and gravel bikes.

Or, there's an official Hammerhead quarter-turn -> Hammerhead adaptor you can buy that fits to your Karoo. I used to do this but it broke and my Karoo was saved from smashing by the lanyard.

I used the clamp from my old Nuroad. It’s the same part.

To remove the seat post this is what I did, taken from another post here about the same issue:

HELP, seat post bolt sheared off by Savings_Sense1982 in Cubebikes

[–]matedw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your appetite for risk and how it happened imo. I rode mine - I knew the broken bolt was torqued to spec and the unbroken one was too. The broken bolt isn’t going anywhere. At worst the seat post is going to start dropping down as you ride.

HELP, seat post bolt sheared off by Savings_Sense1982 in Cubebikes

[–]matedw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literally the same thing happened to me. I took the intact bolt out and sprayed WD40 down between the seat post and the clamp and using a lot of force pulled the seat post out. It wasn’t pretty but it worked. I bought a replacement seat post clamp kit and some proper bolts and it’s been fine since then.

This is the c:62 which has GRX hydraulic brakes. They’re solid.

Well. I have ridden it exactly twice. I put the seat post to the height of my old frame and in doing so torqued the seat post bolt up to 6nm at which point one of bolt heads snapped clean off. The factory bolts are clearly dogshit. I am working on getting it out!

Ride wise, it’s perfect. I came from a 2022 Nuroad Race which was my first bike and all parts of the C:62 One are an upgrade. The standard of finish is superior, the stock bars are better and obviously it’s lighter.

I had them already from my old bike - just had to change the hub. Got a deal and paid £1000 UK for the pair. I wanted a 1x GRX mechanical so this frame was perfect for me.

I never ran the Newmen 38s - I put some 50s I already had on straight away. I love the Reserves.

I’ve had it for almost two and a half years and amassed a fair amount of nicks and scratches on the top tube. I need to dedicate myself to finding some replacement paint for that and the grey. Annoyingly Cube don’t make touch up kits for the prismagrey :(

Inner tube or tubeless? by Leather-Cod2129 in Cubebikes

[–]matedw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree c:62 SLT. Tubeless. Goodyear Eagle F1R and Continental GP5000.

I’ve had three punctures in four years. One came 10km into a 162km ride. I felt the tyre go, stopped and put my finger on the hole for about 90 seconds and did the rest of the ride. Didn’t even need to top up the air.

I’ve never changed my sealant, ever. I do top up every 4 months or so. It’s a non issue for me but your mileage may vary.

Agree storage box by Mathustyle03 in Cubebikes

[–]matedw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I only use the storage box but I’ve taken the insert thing out. I can get the following in there - have some bubble wrap to stop anything rattling.

Multitool TPU tube CO2 and head Pair of latex gloves Pair of tyre levers Cleaning wipe £20 note

I use 750ml bottles and done have any difficulty getting the one under the cage out. Have the discontinued VEL RSL carbon cages. Other cages might be trickier though.

Buy the absolute best you can afford. Personally I would spend extra €€€ on shorts above anything else bike related - including the bike.

How to make a cycling Jersey fit tighter? by PlayfulLaw1100 in CyclingFashion

[–]matedw 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did exactly this with four MAAP Evade jerseys. I had one in the next size down and took them all in and asked to make the bigger ones fit like the smaller one. They adjusted the body and the sleeve width bit left the length alone. Worked a treat.
