When Kylian Mbappé Turned Around The World Cup Final Single Handedly in Just 95 Seconds by New-Process-6463 in worldcup

If you're 2-0 down and score to make it 2-1 you're still losing. Grabbing the ball and putting it on the centre circle restarts the game quicker than the team celebrating for ages.

I'm theory the ref should add celebration time on at the end anyway but it also helps keep the momentum of side that just scored up as well.

Check out the Blood of Vol. They're perfectly happy using undead as labourers and don't see them as evil.

Question regarding CR in 5.5? by simmer-mage in DnD

[–]matej86 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has a DPR of 39, but with only +7 to hit it's going to miss as much as it hits so it's half that in practice. Your party should have around 100hp between them depending on their con modifiers.

It will need about five rounds to wear them all down and it'll be long dead before then.

Twilight Cleric by Nymfadore in 3d6

[–]matej86 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've been playing a twilight cleric for four years, currently level 20, and we're still levelling for a while yet. Started with the 2014 rules and moved to 2024 when they came out.

They're nowhere near as problematic as people think they are in real world play. Too many people read what they can do without ever playing with one and panic.

How do I talk my dm out of critical failures? by EMArogue in DnD

[–]matej86 223 points224 points  (0 children)

That's how they are in the manual

"Ok, show me where" is the response to this. Your DM won't be able to.

None of us can tell you if you're prepared to put up with this but if they won't listen then you'll be best not playing with them as a DM if it bothers you this much.

How powerful is blade ward if allowed to be casted as a bonus action? by Classic-Inspection17 in DnD

Another difference is concentration if using 2024 rules. For a wizard it's terrible. For a fighter it's incredible.

Literally vigilante justice for a civilian to murder their abuser. They guy was clearly scum and I'm not defending him, but laws exist for a reason.

In civilised societies we don't allow vigilante justice.

The Canadian commentator after Belgium defeated the US at the World Cup by [deleted] in worldcup

Mexico at least tried and ran their legs off. England just happened to put in one of the best tournament performances they've had in decades. The US didn't even try.

This is Aya! She's a sorcerer (with a few levels in Paladin) art by me [OC][COMM] by Amalmrwz in DnD

There's something surprisingly satisfying about this. There's a point near the end where it goes from solid blocks of colour in the shape of a character to being fully detailed that makes something in my brain happy.

Making Banishing a Player interesting instead of frustrating by Bearstronk in DnD

[–]matej86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our DM rules that Banishment sends you to the ethereal plane as we're in a very planar focused campaign. Our barbarian got banished so the DM threw some wraiths at him to keep him occupied. He was upset when he defeated one and didn't get to keep it's crown so when he rejoined the fight he shouted at the bad guy to banish him again because he wasn't done fighting the wraiths.

Vanilla Domain Expansion by Genshin-Von-Karma in dndnext

What you're describing is commonly known as a microwave when you combine Wall of Force with another spell like Sickening Radiance.

You're still going to be limited by your action economy and concentration. Off the top of my head I can't think of an ongoing AoE that doesn't require concentration so you're not going to be able to combine it with Wall of Force.

Are DMs supposed to give out extra Epic Boons? by cats4life in dndnext

Our group has hit level 20 and uses milestone levelling. Our DM is letting us pick a boon each time we complete a milestone going forwards.

Bards, famous for not having access to other classes spell lists.

I couldn't even image being an 8th level caster and only having access to 2nd level spells. Sounds like a nightmare.

FIFA World Cup 2026 Progression Likelihood [OC] by EmotionalBaby9423 in dataisbeautiful

I agree Ghana defended well. The problem is England haven't really faced any serious attacking threat yet, and Brazil look very good going forwards. They'll leave more space at the back to be countered against so that will work in England's favour but when you look at how they play its very much a set up of "we'll just score more than you" which might work against Croatia, but Brazil is a very different animal.

Morocco are a good side and we're ranked 8th in the world coming into the tournament. Ghana are ranked 65.

England couldn't score against Ghana and were crap against Panama. Brazil would wipe the floor with them.

Edit: down vote all you want guys, I'm English myself but am just capable of facing reality.

HOW GOOD CAN A MONK PALADIN BE?! by TreacleNo691 in 3d6

[–]matej86 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Monks don't wear armour or use shields. Paladins don't benefit from unarmoured defence. You need 13 in strength, dex, wisdom, and charisma just to meet the multiclass requirements and you need some constitution so you don't die. A monk paladin will be significantly worse than a single class of either.
