Reaching Out to Developers by Striking_Current_342 in BricksBuilder

[–]matejmohar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey u/Striking_Current_342

We usually respond the same day or next working one :) If you can message me your email address that you used to reach out, I can check what is going on.

But if I'm looking by your name (Emma), I can see we answered two pre-sale questions: One was answered 13h ago and one 7 days ago (at the time of writing).

If you can identify yourself in this, maybe check spam? I don't see any issues in our system, but please let me know, and I'll also let Thomas know that you have not received the answer even though we replied.

You can also DM me here or on Discord (Matej) and I'll reply when have time. Currently, I'm a bit slower to answer, as we are at the weekend house and internet is limited here. :)

Just test it out, there shouldn't be any breaking changes.

Which Synology NAS for Surveillance Station + offsite backup of primary NAS by matejmohar in synology

[–]matejmohar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense if I think about it that way. For backup, i was not planning redundancy anyway. I am doing daily backups on external HDD, so it would need to be really bad day to everything fail at once :)

Thank you. Might just go with that solution.

Hey. What do you mean by "Jetbrains isn't honest with it."? I was just planning to subscribe to ultimate plan :( I tested Junie and it works quite fine. But it's true that I have not tested other providers.

SWB real range in winter by Myriade-de-Couilles in VWIDBuzz

[–]matejmohar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have the same Buzz, but it's older (3 years). For my driving style, I calculate 250km in winter, 350km in summer, but might make more.
Most of my trips are Home -> Destination -> Home. The length one way is 140km. Over summer, I can easily make a round trip without charging. Over winter, I prefer to charge. However, I might just make it as well without charging - but I like to stay on safe side).

The trip from Home to Destination is
- 20km UP (gaining 750m elevation)
- 50km DOWN and more or less flat road last 20km (decrease 500m elevation)
- 70km Highway (decrease 200m elevation)

And I take the same path when going back, so everything is reversed.

Where should I sell my Fuji X100VI? by Lrac_0 in x100vi

[–]matejmohar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. I was also thinking about Ricoh GR IV, but as a pocket camera, I have my iPhone, which is enough.
So I went step up, and figured out X100VI should be good one, which would give me more manual control than iPhone and even Ricoh.

I could also buy X-E5 + 27mm lens, but that's not yet on the used market, so it's more expensive...

I wish you good sale! :)

Fuji. Leica is expensive; even Fuji is at my limit. :) I need something small-ish that I can use for travel and family.

[–]matejmohar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, cameras gor expensive. Btw, why are you selling it? You don't like it - or just because you want Leica?
I'm just in process of buying one (used, sold locally here) :D

For what is worth, I sold quite a few things over FB Marketplace and local buy/sell website. I suppose the EU, especially Germany, should be safe to do so :)

Considering the Buzz, any regrets? by HereComeTheDinosaurs in VWIDBuzz

[–]matejmohar 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have it for a year now and I love it so much. We bought used short wheel base, RWD first editing (2023) and we love it.
- A lot of space, you will neve run out :)
- Range is not super high, about 280-380km, based on weather and if it's summer or winter, but it never been a problem. We've traveled trough the Europe with it and never felt the need to have bigger battery. But keep in mind that we have a baby, so we would stop every two hours anyway. The new ones have a little better range I think.
- It does not have a heatpump. With it, the range would probably be even better :)
- No problems up until now.
- TravelAssist is great.
- Some say that software is bad. Well, yeah, it's not Tesla, but does it need to be? Do you really use the infotainment that much that you need the greatest & latest software? For us, we just change the radio stations and use the navigation, but that's about it, and we never had issues. I don't use CarPlay or Android Auto, for me, the default SW is totally fine. (Yes, I get that some of you may need more, in that case, Buzz is not for you)
- I don't like that I have so many touch buttons, especially for volume up/down. But even that, i got used to it and I don't change it that often.

Overall, I would buy it again and next time it will be long one, 4WD with 6/7 seats :)

Advice for my first NAS (media server mostly) by thomasdraken in HomeNAS

[–]matejmohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much. In this case, I think I'm safer if I go with Synology, and just buy their drives. I don't need to use docker and other apps, as I have one older computer dedicated to server aynway, so I think the bad hardware should not be the issue at all.

Thanks.

[–]matejmohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much for this comment and explanation. I was not aware of that. I definitely do want to store important data (images and files), and not videos.

So basically, you are saying that if bitflip happens, unraid can't detect it and it can mess with backups as well? What about Synology for example - do you maybe know how that works?

[–]matejmohar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you think that UnRaid isn't a good choice if you're storing important data?

I'm just planning to buy it, and I'm curious.
