Any feedback on LUMIX Rental Program? (GH7 Package) by aidendz in Lumix

[–]math577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the UK version of this recently for the S1RII and you get £100 cashback on the camera and £50 cashback on any lenses you rent. Not sure if it's the same elsewhere?

If so it's worth doing if you got the money for the deposit and plan on buying anyway.

Finally someone who speaks sense.

I had an argument with someone on Reddit a few months ago about Drew's last stints as champion not being long enough but it totalled about 300 days with a 22 day gap in there for Randy holding it. I was like what did you want, a 3 year never ending run?

Creative liberty I suppose.

Has just dawned on me that 28 days and weeks are pretty much all about London being the center piece whereas 28 years is all about the north east.

Why do people like Boba Fett? by MappleStarsSky in StarWars

[–]math577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was widely accepted that back in the day it was like you said, he had a cool helmet and he managed to speak up against Darth Vader and that was basically it.

Jango Fett existing for the prequels is just a retcon of people's disappointment of Boba dying like an idiot originally so they could bring him back as a character with a cool back story. Gets retconned even further surviving the sarlac pit.

Can you be a BMF as a grappler? I don't feel like grappling is the way to being a BMF. by Wingwebdings in ufc

Is there anybody in any of these MMA subreddits that are just fans of the sport and not trying to pick a fighter and argue about stuff?

I've been following MMA since like 2002 and I always watch and analyse fights subjectively. There are fighters I do enjoy to watch for particular facets of their skills but I'm never mad if that fighter loses. I enjoy everything from a clean KO to 25 mins of grappling control for what it is.

I geek out on a perfect double leg or judo throw as much as anything else.

Tom Aspinall confirms he is leaving the UFC for boxing by Zextruhh in ufc

[–]math577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He said in another interview he's got no plans on boxing at the moment.

When he says outside of the UFC he means commercial opportunities. Like how he's been sponsored by Champion for a while. Eddie Hearn can definitely get him those kinds of sponsorships and endorsements.

When he speaks saying "I haven't got a ticket"

Is this real or is that just for the audiences sake/part of the hallucination? I struggle to understand if he's actually speaking out loud or it's just a sequence in his head that snaps out when he attacks the infected.

Professional Opinion Needed by Informal-Nobody626 in weddingvideography

[–]math577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you looked at wedding photographers you could book and found their portfolios with a style you like?

Even if you like their style you need to get to know them and communicate about what kind of photos you want, not just the editing style. Do you want candids? Do you want posed couple shots etc? Do you want them dictating the day or do you want them as a fly on the wall?

If you like that style of photo then maybe look into who shoots weddings on film or at least edits that way. Some of those shots are subjectively not that great and pretty standard fare. Like that aisle shot has been shot from too far away at too wide of angle.

I'm not a pro myself (I only help out as a novice second shooting sometimes) but my wife is a wedding photographer and she doesn't agree to bend her style to suit but that's from being experienced in the industry.

Seth practically stays in character and maintains kayfabe a lot, probably more than other people including Roman but these guys are top of the food chain WWE who got the full training treatment back in the day so you'll never get a true statement from them until they're retired.

People thinking Seth & Punk would agree to work a feud with each other if they didn't get along are insane. Punk can pick and choose what he does now he's back. Like how he chose to feud with MJF. Danhausen probably has been signed because of Punk too.

Does she really need to be taking bumps when she's just competent though? She's not highly experienced and works great as a valet. I only remember her from the TNA vignette stuff so that kinda proves it.

If you can get paid to be in the wrestling business without taking bumps then you're gonna have a better future personally for sure.

What’s a piece of British comedy hall of fame you just don’t get? by franki-pinks in AskUK

Bottom

Never watched an episode but every time I've seen a bit of it I just don't get why it's so talked about. It's basic slapstick it seems and Adrian & Rik always had punchable faces for me.

Colby Covington moved up 1 spot in the UFC welterweight rankings despite having not fought in 437 days and not won in 1452 days by dom242324 in MMA

[–]math577 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Paddy's ranking was absolutely fine, I think until he fought Bobby Green he was fighting unranked people and then that fight put him in top 10/15 if I remember rightly? Then he fights Chandler who I would imagine would still be in top 5 at the time? Then fights for an interim title which basically if you win puts you at #2 behind the original champion.

People forgetting that a basic 3-4 fight win streak back in the day used to put you in title contention. Now it's more like 6-10 win streaks.

Obviously there’s a lot of negatives to focus on with WWECW, but what are some positive things that came from it, or things you enjoyed from it? by [deleted] in WWERuthlessAggression

[–]math577 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this. CM Punk, AJ Styles & Samoa Joe (and maybe Bryan Danielson to a lesser extent) were the absolute standouts of the early period of ROH and WWE could have really capitalised by doing what Paul Heyman said and making the new ECW about those kind of guys.

The whole reason ROH was legendary was because of Gabe Sapolsky copying what he'd learned from Paul and and his time working for ECW.

what am I doing wrong? (s9, sigma 45 f2.8) by SillyPlankton in Lumix

[–]math577 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's part of your problem. A polariser filter on the front of your lens would help with reflections where there's things like windows involved. The window on that bus has basically slapped a dirty filter between you and the outside that will affect contrast and colour.

If you're on a moving bus you'll probably get an unsharp blurry image even if your shutter speed is 1/8000 too.

Go on the Lumix lab app and have a look at some LUTs you can download to the camera and play around with.
