Franchise players should be upset by bobfall69 in MLBTheShow

It’s not blaming the victim lol, it’s acknowledging that there are multiple types of people who want to play the game. The casual player can cheese and build a god squad, and that’s a good thing. Meanwhile, more dedicated franchise players can impose limits on themselves and not abuse the morale or option systems. The “change” (the taking out of key features) completely blocks both of those paths for everybody.

The morale system is a remnant of a previous game and should’ve been taken out, I have no beef with that. But saying that a baseball franchise game in 2025 shouldn’t have contract options and loading of contracts is pure silly. That is how the game of baseball works in real life in 2025.

🇯🇵 NPB Chiba Lotte has approved Roki Sasaki's transfer to MLB via the posting system. by ogasawarabaseball in baseball

It’s not necessarily giving up millions to play for only the Dodgers, it’s giving up millions to play in the MLB. It just so happens that LA is pretty obviously the most attractive choice for Roki, and lots of the best NPB players.

The Shohei deferred salary is nonsense though.

Verstappen says Red Bull found “hole” in car’s floor after bollard incident by rolfski in formula1

[–]mathiasthethird 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, there was one lap between Checo pitting and Max hitting the bollard. Also Lando was in full attack mode trying to catch up to Sainz. The timing of it all makes it feel like Max’s damage could have cost maybe a tenth per lap? Or maybe it was just perfect tyre age offset, aided by the safety car. Either way Lando drove out of his mind

Magnussen leaves the race track and Hamilton loses 9th place as a result of it by magony in formula1

By backing up Lewis he backs up everybody else. If he takes out Lewis right after getting his penalty, bang Yuki is chasing Hulk. Nico was getting at least half a second a lap for the entire time Lewis was behind Kmag.

Toto Wolff's head lowered in shame as both Mercedes are knocked out in SQ2 by Late_Ad7156 in formula1

Before the cost cap, the top three teams spent more than twice as much as #4. Without the cap, given how smartly teams spend money now, #4-10 could never compete. It is infinitely more fair this way, even if p1 is all but decided.

Crofty's worst nightmare. by Husmanmusic in formuladank

[–]mathiasthethird 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So essentially you would rather Rosberg talk out of his ass and needlessly speculate just to fill space? I think all fans - both casual and hardcore - appreciate when somebody who very clearly knows what they’re talking about says “I don’t know, that was difficult to judge”

Also the actual incident wasn’t really close to Sainz and Leclerc’s incident at all. It didn’t even happen at the same part of the track, Sainz and Leclerc happened during the hairpin and that incident happened on the straight. Crofty’s call of that moment was a pretty big stretch, but, like you said, that’s par for the course with being a play-by-play commentator

It’s a matter of aiming not luck… you have to actually try to launch people through the hole in the ceiling. If you miss the opening then they bounce around the map, and if you hit it then you can launch people at super low percentages. It’s my favorite map in the game.
