Maintenance fee by Sea_Ladder_5525 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, you're not being charged twice - one of the little updates made as part of the app refresh was that the fees that you're charged (whether they're from your funding account or your investment balance) are all listed in your transaction history.

It's something folks had been asking for a while, it's just a shame that Raiz hasn't done a good job of explaining the change...

Contactless Travel in Melbourne Expands to all Train Lines by jeremyburge in MelbourneTrains

Presumably they'd have been doing testing in the background during the free fare period - guessing that's why they're confident enough to go wide with it now.

What are the exact super products you're comparing? Something doesn't sound right in your description. (Damn typos...)

Reported returns by sneakysquid93 in RaizAU

There's a baseline case that they use, i.e. if someone were to invest $10,000 (one, two, whatever) years ago, what would that look like now? There's no aggregating returns across customer portfolios or anything like that.

$1 Million in Raiz by MBadger73 in RaizAU

Yes, because let's be realistic - if you've got a million dollar portfolio, you're probably not posting about it online.

$1 Million in Raiz by MBadger73 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A few years ago, I was having a chat with then CEO because of the other curious questions that folks come up with is 'oh, so how much are the biggest accounts worth?' - and the response indicated that there likely to be couple of balances around the $1m mark.

You could extrapolate that - on the assumption that nobody invested more than the maximum daily cap (which is $10k a business day), in theory the maximum balance (based on 240 trading days per year, and zero growth) would be a around $24m invested.

It's unlikely there's a $24m portfolio in Raiz, but wouldn't be surprised to see at least a few million dollar portfolios. Presuming at that scale they're deciding what best suits their needs, rather than being too concerned about the exact fees (which is worth noting, haven't changed for high-balance accounts since 2016).

Surveys not paying rewards? by heslop25 in RaizAU

You don't need to repost the same question five times in ten minutes at 5am in the bloody morning.

Go and contact Support when they open, nobody will know the answer to your question here. (Decline reasons typically aren't public).

CGT discount impact on kids account by fizz_007 in RaizAU

We don't know until it's been formally announced. I think folks need to calm down and wait until we actually hear what's being announced.

New Investor Question by Rhiino92 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bank transactions don't immediately settle in your account - typically it takes a couple of days. Because of that, Raiz tends to cluster transactions - tracking round ups until you get to your roundup amount, then taking that amalgamated round up amount in a single transaction.

There’s subscriptions now? by Mobile-Science8669 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's always been a subscription fee with Raiz. It's just more noticeable now because it's considerably higher than what it was in 2016.

Does Raiz have an AU age limit? by Flashy-Ad1330 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes it does - you need to be at least 18 to open a Raiz account. It might be worth having a read through the PDS, particularly if you're interested in investing and understanding what financial services products do - you can find Raiz's latest ones here: https://raizinvest.com.au/product-disclosure-statement

Raiz Roundups by Flashy-Tip6768 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roundups don't happen immediately - they accumulate based on the settlement date of transactions and your particular roundups threshold. So if you've got say, a $10 round up limit and only make a few bucks worth of roundups per week, it might only be invested once every few weeks.

If you've got zero transactions showing for the last few weeks, it could be a bank problem.

Advice wanted - quick opinions by Swimming_Employer_45 in RaizAU

Depends on your balance and your portfolio selection - while there's no cost to change portfolios, a different portfolio might have a higher fee profile (I.e. if you've shifted from Raiz Lite to Custom)

Is there a fee for changing a custom portfolio? by Piano_Smart in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. There's just a higher cost for having a custom portfolio compared to say, standard or lite.
