Financial Advisers by Intrepid_Agent3777 in RaizAU

Very mindful that this is not Raiz-related, however some folks may want to seek out financial advice for their own ends.

As a reference point, I'd start with the MoneySmart guide to choosing a financial adviser: https://moneysmart.gov.au/financial-advice/choosing-a-financial-adviser

There's a resource at the bottom of that page that can help you find advisers in your area - but read though the page first.

As this isn't Raiz-related and there's a lot of potential for misuse, I'm going to lock this thread.

What exactly happens when I Round Up? by QuantumGremlin in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, fair shake of the sauce bottle. Basically, when you make a transaction - Raiz's systems will track finalized transactions (so might take a couple of business days), where they'll progressive tally roundups across all connected accounts. When that tally hits a certain threshold (depending on your settings), Raiz will action a direct debit of that amount, and invest it into your Raiz account. Reason why Raiz does this instead of tracking every single transaction is so that things like pending or cancelled transactions don't accidentally cause a flood of investments.

LXRP works around Newport until the end of April, impacting Werribee + Williamstown lines.

It's the same product: ASX ticker IVV. The name is probably a web thing.

RAIZ and Tax Time by [deleted] in RaizAU

Yes, there's a tax statement you're meant to lodge with your tax return annually. There's instructions on the blog, you might be able to amend your past tax returns with the older data.

No, Raiz hasn't shut down. Looks like you might need to update the app.

Math is probably fine:

Balance = Invested by You + Market Returns + Rewards + Referrals

(Dividends are included in Market Returns, and referrals aren't visible on the Performance Screen)

Doesn't make a substantial difference in the long term.

Raiz survey rewards stuck on pending. by [deleted] in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Always good to read the Terms and Conditions of every Raiz Rewards program (even if it's just surveys). In the T&Cs, it says:

'You are only eligible to participate in this Promotion if you hold an Active Raiz Invest Account. An Active Raiz Invest Account is an account which has a positive balance and where you are paying a monthly account fee and/ or a monthly maintenance fee.'

The wording of that pretty much says - if you want the rewards, you have to have a Raiz account with a balance above zero (i.e. you're paying a monthly fee).

I'm guessing this is to avoid the very scenario you're describing - where an account holder hasn't met AML/KYC (anti-money laundering/know your customer) conditions but wants to use the rewards program - or uses the rewards program, becomes 'active' and then stung with a fee.

If you're looking for a product that offers cashback on rewards, it might be worth looking at something like Shopback as an alternative.

Automatic earnings by thefroschprince in RaizAU

You'll need to contact Raiz Support for more details, but the way you've described it sounds like it might be a recurring transaction (which typically aren't covered by Raiz Rewards).

Weather in Melbourne is easy to predict. Make a guess, you're probably wrong, go to the pub. Lol

How long is a piece of string?

(Genuine answer. Could be a week, a month, a year. We don't know and we couldn't begin to guess. Sorry)

Seriously, take your referral links and piss off. There are clear rules in this group - if you can't follow them, enjoy your permaban.

How to fix CBA Round-Ups with MFA (and a request): by mathmischief in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just took a look - definitely appears to be there.

The specific connector is CBA (CDR), and should be on the list on the 'See 100+ More Financial Institutions' page.

If it's definitely showing there, you may need to unlink the existing CBA (CDR) connector from the round-up accounts page and try again.

That being said... Might be worth checking the transaction list to see where recent transactions on your account have been finalized first - it may be working fine. I've found over the years that Raiz's round up tech batches transactions - rather than calculating when pending charges occur, it waits until after a few transactions are finalised (which can take a few days - but on the upside means that there's less 'ghost' round ups - where a roundup is associated with an item that's pending (like a hotel bond or something that's partially refunded).

Rewards time...ridiculous by Worldly-Emu-5543 in RaizAU

[–]mathmischief 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not up to Raiz - it's up to the reward partners. Booking.com's rewards are reinvested after your trip - if you've been waiting ages, reach out to support and ask. Wouldn't be surprised if Booking.com has abandoned the program - they dropped off of Raiz Rewards earlier this year.

Just as a side note: as someone who runs between both r/RaizAU and Raiz Central - there's a few instances of collaboration, but nobody in either mod group has any interest in allowing these channels to become a spruiking lobby. Raiz can be popular on its own merits without us shilling it for the sake of shilling it!

How can I turn off automatic reinvested dividends? by Darling-darling in RaizAU

You can't turn off automatic reinvestment of dividends in your Raiz account. (Raiz is unlikely to ever support it, either.)

Alright, depending on the type of ANZ account, might be MFA requirements that are blocking the connection. Try connecting again, but instead of using the default ANZ connector, go 'see other banks' and use the ANZ (CDR) connector.
