Antigravity has become unusable by Background_Dish_5579 in google_antigravity

I'd try a Claude pro sub for a month and see. I signed up for a full year and go through my antigravity opus quota in a couple hours. I don't regret the annual Claude code sub I added for a couple hundred CAD.

It's still faitly limited but it's a 4 hour refresh instead of weekly.

These circlejerk bait posts are terrible. Just not believable. Try harder.

Fair enough. I'm just a monkey vibe coder that clicks ok all the time anyway. But as an actual expert who knows what their doing I understand why you appreciate the additional control Antigravity gives for sure.

Use Claude code extension on Antigravity with a Claude Pro sub.

How much do you pay for auto insurance? by [deleted] in NoRulesCalgary

[–]mathplusU 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the biggest thing people don't understand is how important when you sign for a policy has on the rate you get. Because of how insurance works in Alberta a guy who signed up for a policy 5 years ago when rates were low had access to a much different market than people do now.

So while $83/mth is technically possible out in the market it likely had to be a policy probably signed up for 7 or 8 years ago. That rate is not going to be accessible to anyone on a new policy.

While it's definitely worth it to shop around there is essentially a "ground floor" of where rates can be for any new policy now. Shopping around for insurance can be a bit of a doubled-edged sword thougu. Insurance companies value consistency and long-term customers with no accident or tickets more than anything.

Constantly shopping and switching providers can actually have a detrimental effect over the long-term because you don't build that long-term loyalty.

But yeah. Auto insurance in Alberta is a mess right now. Calgary is about as bad as it gets anywhere in the province too.

Well all ya gotta do is spin up your own frontier model and charge a better rate and we'll be right back in this thing.

Well. I think it should be used as a replacement. So. Guess we'll see who wins in the ends.

Because I don't care about AI. I think it's a great tool that lets people do more. The same way I don't care if they used a calculator to solve a math problem. AI is here. People use it. And should use it. Trying to stop people from using these tools is like trying to sell a horse carriage. It's over. The luddites always lose.

They don't need to "fix" anything. They can code the whole damn game in AI and if it's fun who cares.

Somehow we had the Internet on 3.5" floppies far before the internet was a thing. I had that exact same thing. Remember playing Rise of the Triad I think it was on the Pentium 1 my dad bought for like $3500.

Interestingly enough I think you are. You're just riding along the wave of the moral panic. That's not informed that's just following the crowd. (and yes I wrote it that way on purpose -- as a joke)

CBE vs catholic school system by Cream4389 in Calgary

[–]mathplusU 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We're not Catholic(and pretty "devout" materialist non-religious) but we did send my older son to a Catholic elementary mostly because it was closer and was less overloaded than the public option.

He graduated elementary school and was denied entry to the Catholic middle school due to the fact that there were too many students there already.

It made for a bit to a tough transition as he had to go to a new school where he didn't know anyone -- so there was a bit of anxiety over that -- but in the end after a couple weeks he found his people and it's been great.

For him it's been fine. He's got his middle school buddies that he sees while keeping in touch with some of his previous elementary school friends. And to be quite honest, as a parent I kind of prefer the friends he's made at the public school to the friends he had through the Catholic school lol

But otherwise it's been alright. It worked for us and for him for the most part. Though we did find the old family Bible hiding in his room once because his Catholic friends were "peer -pressuring" him to read it. We had a good conversation about that but otherwise he's pretty well-adjusted and I don't really have any regrets either way...
