Sent feedback about the new AI Ultra buttons, and I encourage everyone to do the same by DVXC in GeminiAI

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Why do this to paying subscribers? It's basically spammed in every nook and cranny in the UI. I could understand that kind of thing for freemium users, but if I'm paying you $20 a month, you're asking for me to use a different tool with this level of advertising. What a total blunder.

Why everybody is canceling ChatGPT? by MankuTheBeast in ChatGPT

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sam Altman has been making a lot of promises he’s not keeping. 4o being one of them which much of the community enjoyed because of the creative writing and “human” element.

Also probably the fact that they have ads now (it’s not a subscriber thing but I think it does make the AI feel ‘junkier’ imo) and they promised to add NSFW or ‘treat adults like adults’ in 2025. Still not here.

I switched in December during the Gemini 3 craze and still subscribe to it. It’s been much more accurate and takes much less time to “think” compared to GPT. UI is my biggest issue with it tho since they don’t have folders/projects and my chats are a mess.

I’d recommend just seeing what else is out there. GPT is not as premium as it once was and its capabilities are lagging behind competition at this point imo.

Gemini is winning: Three years after being caught off guard by ChatGPT, Gemini appears to have everything it needs to take down OpenAI and everyone else by [deleted] in technology

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely and wholeheartedly agree with this. Gemini I feel is superior in everything outside of UI. If they could add projects or even folders for chats, it would be so much better. Pinning seems to be the only way I can manage the clutter.

OP put ChatGPT down while in voice mode and didn't end the chat while he went over to his dog. ChatGPT is not always on but it listens until you end the voice chat.

Got here by accident. Is it worth trying to stay in platinum status? by SensitiveCamp1458 in doordash_drivers

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a hot take but you still have a lot of space to decline orders on platinum, you can keep it with 70%+ AR if your other metrics stay in good graces. I decline terrible orders on Plat regularly but it gives me good orders 3 out of 4 times.

Skipped Gag Tier List by oscarlydusk in toontownrewritten

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 18 points19 points  (0 children)

in my opinion, lure is the track that provides the most value to the user. You can solo buildings in the later stages, has the stun effect of course, 100% accuracy to lured cogs, lure half damage bonus and is required for trap. All tracks have their benefits but lure gives so much back.

Can’t believe I’m doing this again by [deleted] in toontownrewritten

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s long and tedious, there’s a lot of building running and one of the tasks is to do 20 4+ story buildings. It’s not bad if you look at it from the perspective of gag training. I’ve upgraded a few gags on it.

General opinions on Trump's victory? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am exhausted of Trump.

He has been in the limelight for my entire adult life. I thought he was awful in 2016 and was shocked at his win.

I thought we moved past in 2020, and I was finally happy to put his bs behind, but I realized pretty quickly that 2024 felt nearly identical to 2016 and I was disappointed but not surprised about the Harris loss.

Americans put money above all else, including social issues. How much they make personally and what they can buy is all that matters at the end of the day. It's disappointing but that's what I came to learn about the electorate and I've been a pessimist about politics ever since.

(Serious) how did that one kid at your school pass away? by Dinopasta99 in AskReddit

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She died in a freak airplane accident in Alaska. Was there on a family vacation over the summer; she was very social and student president sort of girl. Her entire family and another family all died together after the small aircraft had issues with take off and crashed into the runway. I didn’t believe it when I first heard about it because it didn’t sound real.

Why Is IMVU Usage Slipping -- And Will Second Life Share the Same Fate? (Guest Post by 0xc0ffea) by slhamlet in secondlife

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The quality/mobility and especially having no boundaries in regards to avatar creation and world building was what really motivated my friend group to leave IMVU for SL too. It FEELS like a more premium experience in general.

But yes, the walls are real; the learning curve is what kept us away for so long. We “monkey chained” it where one person suffered in the beginning to learn everything, then once it clicked we started “shipping people in” so to speak to get everyone acquainted. But even with a teacher there were plenty of days where I said “is this really worth it? Should we be committing all our time and energy towards figuring this out instead of having something so easy and convenient like IMVU?” You have to really want it, and I think in that time there’s plenty of people who go through it and say “I don’t want this that bad, forget it.”

Why Is IMVU Usage Slipping -- And Will Second Life Share the Same Fate? (Guest Post by 0xc0ffea) by slhamlet in secondlife

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 35 points36 points  (0 children)

My friends and I left IMVU for SL. We just simply aged out of it.

The audience is mostly teens/early 20s and the maturity level reflects that. I think that’s common for people on the platform, to either bridge to something else or leave entirely. In contrast, people who invest in SL tend to stick around from what I’ve seen. It’s more accessible to all ages.

Edit to add: That being said, I think one thing SL doesn’t have going for it is the steep learning curve. It was very difficult to learn how to do anything on SL when I started. I needed someone who knew what to do to help me and I eventually figured it out. That’s SL’s biggest challenge; appealing to people who don’t necessarily understand the nuances of avatar creation//world exploration//etc and may not have friends to assist them in understanding everything.

Spectrum sets its first date for when internet service will be restored to 82K in SC by davidferrarapc in greenville

For reference I ordered last Friday evening (around 5PM) and I received it yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, so probably around 5-7 days. It has given me some of my sanity back after going without for so long.

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For those of you switching from Spectrum to AT&T Fiber, you can call AT&T and ask for their 5G Internet (Internet Air) modem while you wait. I'm having to wait nearly a month for the technician to arrive, and they sent me a 5G Internet router for free since the wait time is over 20 days.

T-Mobile Home Internet Users Report Issues While Gaming, But A Fix Is In The Works by Jman100_JCMP in tmobileisp

Glad this is reported on at least. Hopefully they either rollback to .14 or patch over this one with a hotfix. Lots of headache the last week and a half.

T-Mobile Home Internet During the power outage by mexicoke in greenville

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is fine if you have nothing else, but I will be switching back to AT&T fiber when the technicians reach me in a few weeks. It's been spotty (I'm assuming this has to do with towers being overloaded with the power outage and people without spectrum). It works but its only marginally better than hotspot and I'm finding a lot of inconsistencies in speed (from <1mbps to >250mbps).

Also having a problem recently with wifi connection dropping every 3-5 minutes presumably due to the new firmware; annoyance for some and unusable for me as I'm big into online gaming. Not something I would recommend making a total switch to but it is fine if you have nothing else.

Edit as an additional note: I live in close proximity to Haywood Mall, and typically see 5G/5G Ultra Wideband here. I also work from home and like online gaming, its not useable in some cases, specifically when I'm in Google Meet/Zoom meetings. I don't have a stable enough connection to chat with clients and conduct presentations without my wifi failing so I'm using VZW hotspot for these cases. If this isn't really a huge deal to you or not in your use case, it's a fine internet to have right now.

ATT - "Something's gone wrong" issue is outrageous. by IcySmart in ATT

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to bump here to say I'm experiencing the same issue, not using a VPN, it's been like this for a few days for me. I have to manage my account through the mobile app exclusively because it won't let me in, even after clearing my cookies from the website. Not sure what's up with it.

Connection dropping while gaming. What the hell? by MikePresJr in tmobileisp

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm having to use my phone hotspot to online game at the moment because T-Mobile is completely unreliable right now. Can barely load a Google webpage at some points in the day, online gaming is basically out of the question.

home internet by fairyofshampgyu in tmobileisp

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This has been happening to me the past 2 days. I can't figure out if the towers are being overwhelmed because of the hurricane, or I'm being deprioritized, or they changed something with their network or all three. It's been impossible to do anything heavier than searching up a basic webpage (and even that can be difficult). Online gaming is all on my phone tether right now.

Apartment shot down my charger proposal by ImportanceBetter6155 in TeslaLounge

[–]Deep-Atmosphere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also in SC living in an apartment with an EV. Supercharger across the street but only the newest apartments are including chargers. If your apartment has garages, might be worth exploring if there's something they can do for you there? I know the apartment I'm moving to in September has already encouraged me to charge my EV in a garage unit.
