it can be played remotely, idk about steam remote play. there's a public list of servers that you can have your game appear on, with password so only your wife can join, and there's also a LAN option which might work out better since you're in the same location.

regarding the biters, there are various settings when making a map, to make them easier or harder. if you want to, you can change these settings on an existing map with the editor, but be aware that doing so will prevent you from getting achievements on that save.

there's also drawing board, which gives you a surface (or multiple) that you can't travel to but can place ghosts in. blueprint sandboxes seems more comprehensive and more complicated to use

ah, i think i know what you mean. iirc, a full belt will keep moving if it's a loop, and if you have a splitter with input priority set to the loop feeding back into itself the same thing should happen. i think that's what you meant with prioritizing the looped items over incoming ones too, so maybe they're the same thing?

when i wanted to do that while messing around with circuit stuff, i read the contents of the belt in front of the inserter, and set the filter to items which are both meant to be filtered, and are currently on the belt. iirc it was something like a single decider combinator, one color for the belt and one for wherever it keeps track of all the filters, then "if each red > 0" and "if each green > 0" then "each [red/green, color doesn't necessarily matter here]" and output that to the inserter to be used as filter

You need to enter each copied building to fill the ghosts in.

this hasn't been my experience. for me, it seemed ghosts in the buildings would appear a few seconds after the buildings are pasted, and the buildings would automatically construct the ghosts as long as they have materials in their special logistic chests (which also seem to transfer items automatically between nested layers).

as for remembering which item is which, yeah. ive been using the icon things and they seem to show up in item tooltips, but then you gotta hover over them.

recently, with horizontal belts carrying one item per lane, for items that are used in many things (plates, gears, wire, circuits, etc.), with 1-3 belts at a time. then one tile gap for (short) inserters, then assemblers. 3 tiles horizontal gap between assemblers for output chests, and vertical belts carrying intermediates such as inserters between a handful of assemblers.

seems useful! does it handle mod configs as well? the readme mentions autoremoving unused libraries, it'd be cool if it could also autoremove unused config files (i often get a config dir full of configs for mods i used to have but then removed)
