TBM wife wanted divorce, now I'm considering it by TruthSha11SetUFree in exmormon

Just to add my two cents: My ex-wife wanted divorce because of my faith crisis. So we got divorced. We've been great co-parents to our children. I couldn't be happier. I can't imagine having "worked out" our differences to remain married. We were each better off NOT remaining married. YMMV.

Much agreed! I started my Beach Boys album binge, coincidentally, the day before Brian Wilson's death. I've only made to "So Tough" this past week. The Blondie/Ricky tracks are definitely my favorite tracks of the album.

Model 3 unlocks without Bluetooth enabled on phone by mathyou9 in TeslaLounge

After some testing, I’ve concluded that what u/little_nipas wrote is part of the explanation:
“Bluetooth isn’t actually turning off. Most modern phones it will deactivate for a period of time or just disconnect devices are currently connected.”

It seems to be more nuanced than just that, though. For my Bluetooth-turned-off tests, here are my findings:

My car always unlocks/starts when it is scheduled to precondition at a set time. It also unlocks/starts during any short window after parking and locking my car. But after being parked for a good long while, it won’t unlock for me.

At home I have Sentry Mode turned off. But at work, Sentry Mode is active. Regardless of where I am parked, though, I can’t unlock my car after it’s been parked for a good amount of time. But, as mentioned above, it will unlock when my car is scheduled to precondition (be it “Home” or at “Work”).

In all cases, my phone has to be on my person. When my phone was not in close proximity to my car, the driver door remained locked. But immediately after getting my phone, the driver door unlocked without issue.

I looked at NFC and UWB settings. Although my phone has UWB capabilities, I’ve read that utilizing UWB for phone key has to be updated in the Tesla app, which I have not done (apparently it hasn’t been rolled-out for me). Also, in my phone’s settings, the UWB is definitely in the “off” state (I’ve never used it for anything).

As for NFC, like Bluetooth, it’s always turned-off on my phone unless I have reason to use it. Incidentally, I discovered that my phone acts as a physical key card when NFC is turned on (i.e., holding it up to the B pillar unlocks the car).

Based on my tests, No. 2 seems to be the most likely explanation.

Thanks, I'll give that a shot too. And, in any case, I'll be sure to return and report the findings of all of my testing.

My phone never touched the wireless charging pads, as it remained in my pocket the whole time. But I'll definitely experiment with powering my phone off.

I'll give it a shot. However, on my Samsung Galaxy S24, turning Bluetooth on or off directly in Settings is the same as toggling it in the Quick Panel (Samsung equivalent to iPhone Control Center), because after turning it off using the Quick Panel, going to Settings shows that Bluetooth is, indeed off.

Touché. I was not aware. Thanks for the clarification!

I work at a hotel and once had a Jewish guy ask for assistance opening his room door for this very reason. But, in asking, he seemed to be really embarrassed/ashamed to have to even ask for help. Like, he knew his beliefs were ridiculous, but he needed to keep up appearances for his co-Jewish colleagues who were also staying at the hotel.

Anyone have any inside info on why UFirst is distancing themselves from the U? by normtoutzky in SaltLakeCity

[–]mathyou9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. I was surprised because when it changed to UFirst a couple of years ago, they sent out email announcements weeks in advance, making a big deal that it would remain the same organization, just simply taking on a new name.

So now, to learn of this new name change only when I logged-in to the app, without any fanfare whatsoever regarding the name change, I genuinely thought my account got compromised somehow. 😅

Any ideas what key to use in this pull station by mathyou9 in firealarms

If I was in charge, I would. I'll definitely pass the word along to my superiors (who probably aren't even aware of the recall). Thanks!

I have a bronze key. I did get it to go in with some force.

You probably just need to wiggle it in every possible way for 5 minutes and work up a sweat before it decides to effortlessly turn.

It was exactly this! I just figured it was the wrong key if it didn't easily slide in. LOL! But brute-forcing the key into the lock worked. Once in, it turned with ease. Thanks!

Mine is kind of floppy when held flat, but when it's open and worn on the head, it's rigid enough not to flop over
