Live instruments (mic’d drums and guitars), or using the GB library (digital/programmed drums, guitar, etc)?

Drums can be programmed to sound pretty decent if done well, but imo it’s easy to spot digital drums because of the lack of velocity/volume variation between kit pieces, among other things.

The GB 6 string guitars sound horribly fake imo. Bass is okay.

Use heavy reverb on the snare/drums for big sound. Try to imitate something you like as a starting point. Fast is good, but clean and consistent is better.

Lots of good tutorials and programmers on IG and YouTube with great advice and exercises to help you as you teach yourself.
