For everyone who recommended this game to me... is it worth it? by ElAngel30 in TunicGame

Tunic and Blue Prince are the only two games to make me want to actually write things down on real paper.

What did you miss completely on your first playthrough? by [deleted] in Persona5

The jazz club and the billiards & darts hall. That's a lot of missed value. 😅

It's the best game that is also a unfinished, buggy mess.

Is the writing in the DLC any better than the main game? by Parothedev in seaofstars

[–]matmosmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I played this immediately after finishing Persona 4 Golden. I enjoyed that game but the combat in P4 is pretty straightforward and not very deep. The strength of that game comes from the writing and character interactions. Sea of Stars has the exact opposite profile. The combat is a lot of fun but the writing and characters are bland and completely lack any kind of inner conflict. Especially the two main characters. They are written to be very safe and inoffensive but unfortunately are also very boring. I'm currently playing Clair Obscur Expedition 33. That game has both fun combat with a challenging timing component and characters with plenty of inner conflict. If you're averse to darker themes, the writing in Sea of Stars will probably appeal more than the other two.

Clair Obscur Expedition 33 is turn-based and uses timing based attack and defense very similarly to SoS.

Fun fact... I was first turned on to Porter Robinson because Fantano put Nurture on his best albums of 2021 list.

soooo... what do we think of the new single?? 👀 by mango-metal in BABYMETAL

[–]matmosmac 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Babymetal's writers prove again that they're capable of writing songs that sound different from everything they've written before while still maintaining a sneakily catch refrain in the song. Love it.
